Alexander Camellia was born, along with his twin Anna, to a wealthy family in Divinity’s Reach. With this nobility, his parents expected him to get educated. However, unlike with Anna, he received almost no help with anything, and was forced to manage everything alone, even housing and transportation. His parents were traditionalist to an almost unhealthy degree. They believed that Alex, as a male, should have no trouble being self-sufficient, and that he should suck it up instead of complaining. When he did receive help, he had to make do with scraps and hand-me-downs.

This lead to Alex spiraling downward, trying desperately to make ends meet as a bartender in Divinity's Reach while also attending academy full-time, where he (like Anna) was struggling to get through. Through the stress and exhaustion, Alex definitely made some mistakes. Without going into too much detail, let's just say during one night, his judgement wasn't the best, and he and Anna got a bit too close. This strained their sibling relationship, causing even Anna to start distancing herself from him.

This was the final nail in the coffin, and Alex dropped out of the academy. He stuck with his bartending job for a while until his parents' incessant nagging and insulting drove him to quit his job and leave Divinity's Reach altogether, cutting off contact with his family completely.

Thus Alex became an adventurer, and he traveled the length and breadth of Kryta. One day in his adventures, by sheer luck, Alex met a grandmaster thief named Alice Rose. This woman caught his eye, which was probably intentional since she would be a fool to stand out so much as a wanted criminal. Alex talked to Alice for a bit, before asking if he could join her. It's unclear why Alice agreed, but she did, and soon Alex proved himself to be a valuable addition to Alice Rose's team of crime.

While Alice is the boots-on-the-ground during heists and espionage missions, Alex is the man behind the curtains, feeding Alice intel during her missions. Despite dropping out of academy, Alex is incredibly knowledgeable, and his expertise has helped make many a successful heist.

Seven years later, Alex received a letter from Anna. She wanted to reconnect, and she described her life after he left. She was now a traveling Bard, a development that completely took Alex by surprise. She had been given everything, and still she dropped all of it to become an adventurer, just like he did. Finding that he and his sister now share a common thread, they reconnected. Still feeling the scars of the event, they both agreed to never bring it up and instead forged a new bond. While Anna disapproves of Alex's current life of organized crime, she respects that he at least found his calling, something that took Anna many more years to figure out.

Near the end of Season 4, Alex was caught during one of his intel-gathering missions. In response, Alice dissolves the crime syndicate and rescues Alex. Now with no job and nowhere to go, the two banded together into an unnamed guild and sought out the Rose Vanguard with the intention of joining. Now the two fight for the Vanguard so that they may clear their names.
