Dominique Shepherd-Binns

dance studio dance instructors stuart florida

Finding her passion early, Dominique Shepherd-Binns started taking dance lessons at the age of four and continued throughout her teenage years. After high school she attended Mount Aloysius College in Cresson, Pennsylvania, on a Theatre Scholarship. She moved back home to Florida after one year in the cold, continuing her studies at Indian River State College. As she continued growing as a performer, she found herself on main stages across South Florida and opening for major artists, including Sean Paul. She has been a recognizable fixture for more than a decade at countless South Florida Pride events, acting as a veteran choreographer and performer on stages from the Treasure Coast to Miami. In addition to teaching, Dominique has toured the country as a dancer with “Simply Tina”, the only Tina Turner tribute band with expressed permission from Tina Turner herself, to perform her music. Over the years, Dominique found her way back to studio life, pouring her energy into what she loves most - teaching dance to kids. After spending more than 15 years teaching at several reputable studios along the Treasure Coast, she was offered (and accepted) the opportunity to become the Director of Boundless Dance Company (now Coastal Dreams Dance Company). Building this program from the ground up was no easy task, but her passion, determination, and drive built it into a reputable studio, drawing in dancers from all along the Treasure Coast. During her time as Director of BDC, Dominique created a program capable of a sustaining a major production - her own take on the classic “Nutcracker” - “The Cracked Nutcracker”. With almost 17 years of experience, she has finally reached her lifelong goal of having her own studio. Dominique is proud to be Co-owner and Artistic Director of Level Up Dance Center.
