Spotlight on Dr. Chris Dahlin
Spotlight on Dr. Chris Dahlin
In May of this year, Dr. Chris Dahlin, a Professor of Biology in the Natural and Behavioral Sciences Division, was awarded funds from the Chancellor for a community project. Dahlin says that she, “wanted a project that would have some form of permanency, that would inspire and would also improve the lives of youth in Johnstown;” and bringing artist Queen Poetri, a GJSD alumnus, to the Greater Johnstown Middle School for an artist-in-residence program did just that! Middle school students were inspired by Poetri as they got creative and vitalized their space with a beautiful mural. This collaboration between Dr. Dahlin, the Greater Johnstown School District, and Queen Poetri is just one example of the outstanding work our faculty do inside and outside of the classroom.
President Spectar and Professor Dahlin celebrate with the students as the art project is officially revealed.
