Although there is no attestation paper on record for this service, there is a note in his file stating he was returned from the 1st Battalion in Valcartier, Quebec December 19, 1914

• During the fierce fighting at Passchendaele, Belgium, November 3rd, 1917, Private Salisbury was knocked unconscious and buried by a shell explosion. 

He received severe bruises to his back and legs and was evacuated unconscious to the No.3 Australian Field Ambulance for first aid where he came to confused. 

He was then transferred to the No.1 Canadian Field Ambulance

Bien qu'il n'y ait pas de papier d'attestation au dossier pour ce service, il y a une note indiquant qu'il a été renvoyé du 1st Bataillon à Valcartier, Québec le 19 décembre 1914 

• Au cours des violents combats à Passchendaele, en Belgique, le 3 novembre 1917, le soldat Salisbury a été assommé et enterré par l'explosion d'un obus. 

Il a reçu de graves ecchymoses au dos et aux jambes et a été évacué inconscient vers le No.3 Australian Field Ambulance pour les premiers soins où il est devenu confus. 

Il a ensuite été transféré au No.1 (Canadian Field Ambulance).
