Gillies: "In middle school, I was boy crazy and it was the worst! I would always lose, too. I was more into the competition than the boy by the end of it! I just wanted to win!"
Gillies: "I would like to go into movies. And I'd like to have a very successful movie career. Ultimately, I'd love to win an Oscar; that's my big goal in life, so that's what I'm going for."
Gillies: "I think dealing with mean girls is just a part of life. I never really took people like that too seriously."
Gillies: "The funny thing about voice over is you can go in in sweatpants and have your hair all messed up, and no one will see you, and you can still deliver the same great product."
[On how her partner proposed to her]
Gillies: “When we got there, he started leading me down to the backyard, I had no idea what he was doing. All of a sudden he got down on one knee and proposed to me right there. I was totally surprised. It was a perfect proposal.”
[On how she felt postponing her wedding]
Gillies: “As painful as it is to push off something that you’ve spent so much time planning and looking forward to, I do believe it’s the right—and only—decision.”
Gillies: "If you're passionate about something and stick with it, even if your friends aren't doing it, it'll pay off. It can be really rewarding to stick to your guns."
Gillies: "I try not to tweet too much; I'm a really sporadic tweeter. I will tweet nonstop for, like, 3 days, and then I won't for a month. I don't make it priority at all; if I feel like doing it, I do it, and if not, then I don't care."
Gillies: “I had worn so many spectacular wedding gowns over the course of three years on Dynasty that I always said that I would wear black on my wedding day. But as I got older, I realized my taste is actually very classic and simple, so that’s what I was looking for.”
Gillies: "If someone's being less than courteous to you, I don't think you need to pay any attention to them."
[On postponing her wedding due to the pandemic]
Gillies: "Aside from the obvious travel and crowd restrictions, it didn’t feel right to be celebrating in such a big way when there was so much going on in the world. It would have been in poor taste to burden people by asking them to risk their lives to come to our wedding. There were more important things to focus on. Our wedding could wait."
Gillies: "I like growing up; I feel like I have an old soul. I like the age to match as much as it can."
Gillies: "With everything going on, it felt so nice to be in my childhood home with nothing to do but relax leading up to the big day. We cooked and took the dogs for long walks and really just enjoyed each other’s company. It felt good to slow down."
Gillies: "The food I eat the most is probably steamed, plain white rice. I know its really, really, really boring, but that's honestly the food I eat the most. No, I like cucumber avocado rolls... I love that."
Gillies: “I’ve been a bit of an extremist during this whole quarantine thing and hadn’t left the house for over four months at the time, so safety was my top priority.”
Gillies: "The music on the radio is fine, it's just not my type of music. You don't play an instrument, and you don't need to be able to sing. You just need to be able to make a beat and use auto-tune. It's crazy!"
Gillies: "Once you lose the honesty in a relationship, I mean, I think you don't have a relationship at all."
Gillies: "I like playing a character that admires real musicianship, and real talent and hard work. I think that's a good message for everyone."
