Vert: "One thing I could tell you is that I'm all over the place."
Vert: "There are always people who are into the old way of doing things. I don't think it's a bad thing necessarily, but things change - nothing stays the same. If you can stay true to yourself, you're always going to be legendary."
Vert: "If you're you, it doesn't matter if you're the most boring person in the world: someone will like you. You're not trying to be anyone else."
Vert: "I'm a real big Marilyn Manson fan. I get a lot of my styles from him. Not even musically - living-wise, too. Marilyn Manson definitely shows me you shouldn't care what nobody say. I watched a bunch of his interviews, and he's not just an artist; he's one of the most intelligent people I ever saw in my life."
Vert: "Don't get me wrong: school is good and all, but school is way too slow for me. Like, super slow. So I didn't want to go. I wanted to learn on my own with real life experiences."
[On who gave him his name]
Vert: “Some guy was just like ‘you rap fast, man. Like a little machine gun’ and from that moment I was Lil Uzi.”
Vert: "If I'm talking about girls and stuff, it's usually the truth. So now, you know, if you hear my songs, you are gonna appreciate it differently because usually, it's the truth."
Vert: “I like making music, and I like making people happy. But the music is whatever, bro. I really do it just to make my family happy. Like, it’s just something for my family to talk about.”
Vert: "I'm just doing me, and to me, that's what got me this far."
[On if he still spends day's in the studio perfecting songs]
Vert: "No, I’m just leaving songs how they are instead of trying to make the perfect song. I was following the other guys too much."
Vert: "One thing rap and rock have in common, a lot of it is focused on negativity. I like dark stuff."
Vert: "All of my music for Eternal Atake got leaked, so I had to redo it. It didn’t reach its full potential—I just knew it wasn’t the sound I was going for. Let’s just say Eternal Atake, for another artist, would have been really good, because it was super dumbed down to where everyone could enjoy it, but that’s not my artistry. I want my new music to be more intimate to my real fans. I wanted it to be almost cultlike."
Vert: "I never wanted to be no rapper."
Vert: "My insurance tried to cut me off, they were like, ‘This kid’s trying to kill himself.’ … Because we knew it was a piercing, my insurance looked at it like, ‘This kid just implanted this diamond in his head, and he’s gonna die.’ They’re r*tarded. … I really had to call the piercing person and show them low-key… it’s literally a piercing."
Vert: "I just take rock songs and mix it with hip-hop and a little bit of R&B."
Vert: "I’ve been learning how to ride ATVs and dirt bikes in Philly, where it’s super illegal. I got really good. My favorite bike is a Yamaha Banshee 350. They stopped making them in 2006 because they’re very dangerous. They’re really good to wheelie, and they’re really aggressive bikes. I like aggressive stuff."
Vert: "The thing that makes me different from any other rapper is that I usually talk real crazy in my songs."
Vert: “It was like when you come to the last level and you open the door and it’s, like, a whole new world — not even a new level but a whole new world. You’re like, ‘Wait a minute. You’re telling me I can’t buy all this stuff out the store, I have to get archival stuff?’ Oh, shit! I’m losing.”
[On why he believes his passion is in clothing rather than music]
Vert: “’Cause the music shit is effortless. I actually take my time with this.”
Vert: “But I realized the music ain’t even living; their No. 1’s are real quick. I had to realize this is their beginning; they’re younger than me, so they have room to do that. I don’t have room to do that. I used to always look at all the young guys and be like, Oh, shout out this guy. I ain’t shouting out nobody no more.”
Vert: "In my elementary days, I took a liking to rock & roll music. I dabbed into Marilyn Manson, which became my favorite."
