Jungkook: "So I think the visual aspect is really important. The song, the dance — every individual aspect is really important."

Jungkook: "I’m always wanting to be perfect and I’m always trying to climb higher. I do think I have enough talent, but I also believe I’m lazy. I have two completely contradictory tendencies. I want to climb higher, but at the same time, I don’t want to. They say the hexagon is the most perfect shape. But there’s a crack in mine. It’s not perfect. It wants to be, but it keeps breaking."

Jungkook: "I try to savour that heartache. I would play sad music and embrace the sadness. And when I’m in the car at night, I like listening to calm music, and in the daytime, fun music. Sometimes I’ll seek out what’s trendy and other times, what’s old. I can’t get a good handle on my own feelings."

Jungkook: "I’m the type to listen to sad music and wallow in my sadness."

Jungkook: "There have been so many beautiful memories, but looking back, the ones I told myself to never forget have become dream-like and vague. I realised I can’t remember them perfectly, so this experience will be even more precious."

Jungkook: "I started my trainee years when I was growing up, and one thing I think is a real blessing for me is I got to meet these wonderful, nice, good six members. I think I matured into a really good person that can be loved by a lot of people. I’m really grateful for the fact that other members, the older members, have given me a lot of feedback, positive or negative. I’m really grateful to have met them."

Jungkook: "I’m a person that really loves to be onstage and really loved hearing from our fans."

Jungkook: "I’m envious of people with a lot of imagination. I’m terrible at drawing, but there are people who can draw what’s in their head. I’m not that kind of person. It turns out I’m not very good at making things up."

Jungkook: "It’s true I couldn’t spend a lot of days at school, but I think I gained more than I lost. I sometimes felt envious of all my friends hanging out or going on a trip. Maybe those are the things that I missed. But again, I think I gained more than I’ve lost."

[On why he considers himself 2AM if he were a time of day]

Jungkook: "For me, at least. I sleep around 4AM, you see, and 2AM is that time of night when I can’t decide whether to do something or just go to bed. My life is like that right now. I have a lot to think about. What I should do, and practical things too. Yes. That’s why I’d be 2AM."

Jungkook: "In general, I’ve tried to listen to a lot of different music. To really find the voice that I have right now, I listened to random music and just tried to sing along and learn how other artists sing."

Jungkook: "There are so many songs I don’t know the song title to or even the artist’s name – I only know the melody."

Jungkook: "And just because we couldn’t go on tours, it didn’t mean we could stop improving. So I tried to discover new things and I think I spent a relatively busy time inside. But I did have some time to really rearrange my emotions, and I think I grew up as a person as well."
