Schnapp: "Being comfortable with everyone on set really helps to do these intense scenes when you are not worried about everyone looking at you and what they think. You can just kind of let go and let the scene happen."
Schnapp: "I love having new cast members; it just really changes things up."
[On his Stranger Things character Will struggling to fit in]
Schnapp: "I think that's a good message in its own to just like tell people in the world who can't fit in and feel like they don't belong that like you're not alone and that's a normal part of growing up or even any stage of life, and I think you should own it and and own your weirdness and be unique and and that's the best way to be."
Schnapp: "I've always been a foodie. I love food!"
Schnapp: "There's always so many opportunities and different movies that I can do, but it depends on what interests me and what I think is a fit for me."
Schnapp: “I had this accidental tear-up when we were filming Season 4 and El was being bullied, it felt so real and I was tearing up for her. That was pretty kinda real.”
Schnapp: "It's nice that I can do what I want with my hair when I'm not filming."
Schnapp: “I think it’s just so much fun for me to … express all these different kind of emotions and be able to play with it, and it doesn’t need to be taken too seriously.”
Schnapp: "Well with just this business, this whole acting thing, it's so competitive and there's like such a small chance of making it. I'm very lucky that I got to be on this big show, and I just think if you push past that 99 percent who give up at a point, you will have a chance at making it and going somewhere."
Schnapp: "I have trouble watching myself sometimes because I nitpick the littlest things."
Schnapp: "I recently invested in a bunch of new startups and businesses and stuff to come. It’s just really exciting for me at this time of my life to expand into other things and try things that aren’t just acting, but entrepreneurship and that world."
Schnapp: "I always say what makes acting so much easier is when you get to act off of good actors."
Schnapp: “I don’t know how to explain it but just you feel so attached to a character, and then you’re crying - that’s what makes a good show, that you’re attached to them.”
Schnapp: "I've always loved shoes; I'm kind of a big sneakerhead."
Schnapp: "Yeah. I love acting. It was a hobby. It’s still a hobby. It’s so fun. I love stepping into any character’s shoes and just belting my heart out, whatever the scene is, so I’ll never quit that."
Schnapp: "It's always different for whatever the scene asks for but usually, I listen to music before the scene just to get into the mood, mellow myself out and really put myself into the character's shoes. I zone out from everything going on around me and just focus on what I have to do. From there, I just let it happen."
Schnapp: "It's very corny, 'never give up' - but it's just a great quote that I always follow."
[On filming emotional scenes]
Schnapp: "I think it's just so much fun for me to just be able to like express all these different types of emotions and play with it, and it doesn't need to be taken too seriously."
Schnapp: “It’s nice when I can like, see a fan on the street, and we have a conversation and we talk and I get to know them, it’s super heartwarming when I get to hear their opinions about the show and I love hearing their insight.”“It’s nice when I can like, see a fan on the street, and we have a conversation and we talk and I get to know them, it’s super heartwarming when I get to hear their opinions about the show and I love hearing their insight.”
Schnapp: "I've never been stuck in the Upside Down, and no one else I know has, so it was kind of something new to just create."
Schnapp: "I think Facebook is more for old people and, like, adults. My parents use Facebook. I honestly have never been on Facebook."
Schnapp: "A good book, or a good show leaves a lot of unanswered questions but makes you think."
Schnapp: "I feel like everyone, at least all teenagers these days, wears Air Force 1s or Converse. But I would much rather have Air Force 1s over Converse for sure. I think Air Force 1s are cooler and they're more comfortable."
Schnapp: "I always wish I could just see the 'Stranger Things' from an audience standpoint and not from mine. 'Cause when I watch it, I remember someone was behind there and behind there. I just can't watch it like a viewer. But I love seeing something on paper come to TV."
Schnapp: "I love getting to work with amazing actors because it kind of makes you look better."
Schnapp: "I feel like with 'Hubie,' it was just a matter of the difference between working on a movie versus a TV show. TV shows, it's like a long period of time and you're living there, and with this movie, it was kind of in and out."
Schnapp: "I love being online because I feel like you can just be yourself and it's so easy to open up."
Schnapp: "Usually there will be a funny trend that I put my own twist on or something hilarious happens to me and I think - 'This would be a perfect TikTok.'"
Schnapp: "In 'Stranger Things,' of course, I have all these kids around me and I feel like on a TV show, you're more connected with everyone already. But it's fun getting on a movie set and getting to know everyone. There're pros and cons to everything."
Schnapp: "When I had to have a little seizure, I looked up videos of people having seizures. I remember looking up symptoms and what happens to your body. You kind of just lock up and I had to prepare for that. A lot."
Schnapp: "I go to camp every summer for seven weeks and it's like sleepaway camp."
Schnapp: "I love Nutella, and I was like, 'How can I change this and make it better for consumers?' I think the way to do that was to make it healthier and better for the planet. And so we did that."
Schnapp: "If I'm trying to get into character and it's an emotional scene, I'll listen to depressing or really sad music."
Schnapp: "I have made a few 'Stranger Things' related TikToks because my fans love that and I definitely plan on making some while on set of 'Stranger Things' when production starts up again."
Schnapp: "You really disconnect yourself from the world being in the middle of nowhere."
Schnapp: "I mainly use Instagram and Twitter to be able to interact with fans and talk to them, and then Snapchat is the app I use to interact with my friends."
Schnapp: "I decided to start a YouTube channel a while ago and it kind of failed because I stopped posting and forgot about it. So a few years later I decided I wanted to make one for real with a team behind me. So that's what I did and I love it!"
Schnapp: "I like meeting fans. It's amazing to me."
Schnapp: "I think at this time in my life right now, I still need some time to grow and learn and find my responsibility and stuff. I think it’s important for me to go to college and take advantage of the school there and learn something outside of the acting world."
Schnapp: "Like, from my middle school dance... the boys were on one side, and the girls were on the other side, and we never interacted with each other."
Schnapp: "I started 'Outer Banks,' because there's so much hype around it. I saw one episode and I didn't really continue, but I got to keep going at it. Two of the actors on there were also in 'Stranger Things,' and all my friends always ask, 'Oh my God, you know Madelyn Cline. She was in 'Stranger Things' too.'"
Schnapp: "I try to make sure that I still get a normal life and go to school - do all the normal things. I still want to have a childhood."
