Demie: "I'm such a private person."
Demie: "I’ve always been like extremely specific and picky. I’m grateful to have worked with some incredible filmmakers. I just know what I like when read something."
Demie: “Everything I know that I’ve wanted, I’ve gotten.”
Demie: "in high school especially, I was very introverted, and if I don't know you, I can be really shy. I'm either a complete introvert or a complete extrovert. I'm nice."
Demie: "I think I always bring a bit of myself to everything."
Demie: "I’ve always been very vocal about what I want. I grew up writing shorts and music videos. I love the visual aspect of everything. I think I’m very clear in that. My issue is letting go and not being so controlling with things."
Demie: “I’ve always known from a young age that I was meant to have multiple careers.”
Demie: "My empire is being built."
Demie: "I love schoolwork. I love research and I love working, but I don't like being told what to do. I think I struggled a lot in school because you're on a schedule and you're being told what to do and when you can go to the bathroom. I was always getting in trouble for talking too much. But no, I don't want to go back to high school. I'm good."
Demie: "I style myself, I like to custom design stuff for me to wear all the time."
Demie: “I’m so grateful for this cast. Not only are they so talented and so dedicated and so professional, but we all instantly connected and became a family.”
Demie: "I think something that's timeless that you can also wear 20 years ago or 20 years later, I'm just drawn to those pieces."
Demie: "I have a certain taste level, and I’ve been really true to that, and will continue to be true to that. It really is a feeling. When you read something, you get a feeling or you don’t."
Demie: "I don't like being told what to do."
[On being offered a role in Euphoria]
Demie: "At the time, I was so discouraged about acting because I wasn’t getting any scripts that I loved. I am very particular about the scripts I chose to do, because you are giving so much personal energy that you have to be careful. I thought I would take a break from acting and make music, and then I got the Euphoria script and I knew I had to be a part of this."
Demie: "I don't want to go out and just get the brand that everyone's wearing."
Demie: "If I see a really whack song in the script, I'm immediately kind of like, 'I'm not doing this.' I just felt really grateful because music means a lot to me."
[On playing Maddy]
Demie: “Maddy pulls me out of my comfort zone. Even the way I dress, I don’t really wear skirts—I’m more tomboy. She wears whatever the hell she wants, and I love that. I got to explore this other side.”
Demie: "I'm obsessed with a platform sandal because I'm just so short. It gives me this power."
[On playing Maddy]
Demie: "But with all the sex and volatile relationships, that’s so not me, and that was one of the hardest parts, to be vulnerable in that way. Even with the nudity—I don’t know if you’ve seen my Instagram, but it’s mostly portrait shots. I don’t post bikini pictures. I’m just not that way. I don’t judge anyone that is—sometimes I wish I was more free in that way—but it was a challenge."
Demie: "I didn't really have any friends in my school. They all went to other schools and I just met them around L.A."
Demie: "I was pretty much alone all the time, I would just walk straight home after school, and I would rework vintage frames and somehow they became popular."
Demie: "There are things that I think I wanted and I really liked, but I didn’t get. I feel like Euphoria was one of those that I had to be a part of."
Demie: “I think it’s fun when you can dress to your character.”
