Timberlake: "The most boring thing in the world? Silence."
Timberlake: "I know what it takes to put on a good show for the fans."
Timberlake: "When I was a kid, I played basketball religiously. I begged my mom to get me voice lessons because I wanted to learn to sing the right way, but at the same time, I was playing Junior Olympic basketball, and I was playing point guard for my school. But I was wanting to get into entertainment, into music and film and television."
Timberlake: "I'm a perfectionist. I can't help it, I get really upset with myself if I fail in the least."
Timberlake: "I think the only way to achieve something that's classic is to be in the moment. You don't sit around and think, 'Oh, I hope this is remembered forever!' You just have to be honest, and I think that requires being in the moment."
Timberlake: "I have 20,000 girlfriends, all around the world."
Timberlake: "As far as the press is concerned, they're going to say what they want to say. Probably about 10-15 percent of the time It's accurate."
Timberlake: "I have OCD mixed with ADD; you try living with that."
Timberlake: "I don't think men figure out what they're really about until they're 25. That's when they start to feel like themselves."
Timberlake: "I train in the mornings, and I'll eat two breakfasts. I'll have waffles with flax seed and almond butter and one egg scrambled. Then I'll work out and have a second breakfast - another egg or a protein shake. Within a half-hour to 40 minutes after a workout, that's when you want to load up on protein."
Timberlake: "My career decisions have nothing to do with my personal life."
Timberlake: "I think people sometimes don't pay enough attention to what they do. I've done well, but the reason is pretty simple: I've worked my ass off. The toughest thing a performer can do is make it look as if it comes easy."
Timberlake: "I believe people can move things with their minds."
Timberlake: "I think I had a knack for music, but I think what I was more sort of talented at more than anything, because I don't think I'm a great singer, I think that I grew up imitating different voices that I heard."
Timberlake: "If I did any movies I'd have to take a break from singing, because I'd want it to be really good."
Timberlake: "What makes most people comfortable is some sort of sense of nostalgia. I grew up in a small town, and I could count my friends on one hand, and I still live that way. I think I'll die in a small town. When I can't move my bones around a stage any more, you'll find me living in a place that's spread out and rural and spacious."
Timberlake: "Your critics do not count. Their words will fade. You won't."
Timberlake: "With the exception of octopus, I don't think I've met any food that I didn't like. And by the way, sometimes I do like octopus. I'm just not crazy about it by itself. I love sea urchin. I love uni. If I'm going to die of anything, it's going to be gluttony."
Timberlake: "When I'm in the studio, there are no boundaries."
Timberlake: "I mostly work out so I can eat religiously. I'm such a foodie. The only way I can make myself feel better about what I eat is to work out."
Timberlake: "The best part about being with a group is that you don't have to do everything alone. You're with your friends."
Timberlake: "If you asked me what pop is right now. I'd say hip hop."
Timberlake: "When I'm not on stage, I'm kind of shy. If you see me and I don't say much, don't think I'm not taking in what you have to say. I'm just not a big talker."
Timberlake: "Every relationship I've been in, I've overwhelmed the girl. They just can't handle all the love."
Timberlake: "All you can do as an artist is do what you think is an extension of you. You put down on paper ... who you are. That's what being an artist is all about. And when it gets done, you don't look back at it and say, 'Oh, I could have done that better.'"
Timberlake: "The worst thing about being famous is the invasion of your privacy."
Timberlake: "If you put out 150 percent, then you can always expect 100 percent back. That's what I was always told as a kid, and It's worked for me so far!"
Timberlake: "I get way more nervous playing golf in front of 500 people than being on stage in front of 20,000 people."
Timberlake: "I think music will always be a big part of my life. I can't go five minutes without singing, sometimes unconsciously. And people stare at me, and I'm wondering why they're staring, and then I'm realizing that I'm belting out a tune."
Timberlake: "I like simple things. I like to sneak in the theatre and watch movies. I'm a movie buff."
Timberlake: "That's something I learned from both my stepdad and my grandfather - that there is a thing called chivalry, and it doesn't have to die with the birth of the Internet. The way I see it, if you're asking a girl out on a date, it's only right to do it in a way that she can hear your voice."
Timberlake: "If there were something that I was going to endorse, it would probably be something like sneakers."
Timberlake: "I used to keep my Air Jordans icy white. I had one toothbrush for my teeth - and a couple of toothbrushes for my shoes."
Timberlake: "I will always come with something that's aesthetically pleasing."
Timberlake: "I'm such a Type A personality - when it comes to a road trip, I plan my food so far in advance. I roll hard with a cooler. I don't mess around. I want to avoid ending up eating fast food. I try to stay away from that."
Timberlake: "There's nothing wrong with shooting for the stars."
Timberlake: "I'm not trying to sound pretentious, but we did sell 12 million records on the first album, so we did get paid a little bit."
Timberlake: "I like to play golf. I like to shoot hoops."
Timberlake: "The golf swing is very, very rhythmic. There's a certain tempo to it, just like in music."
Timberlake: "My teenage years were exactly what they were supposed to be. Everybody has their own path. It's laid out for you. It's just up to you to walk it."
Timberlake: "Honestly, the only thing I loved when I was a kid was basketball. I was an athlete when I was a kid, and that was it."
Timberlake: "Talent doesn't always equal success."
Timberlake: "There was a point in my teenage years, when we were starting to play bigger shows and females were running after tour buses and all that, and my mom - and I remember this like it was yesterday - said: 'Look, I want you to know that I couldn't be prouder of you. You are extraordinary. You move people. But it doesn't make you better than them. You still put your pants on the same way as them, one leg at a time every morning.' I thought about learning to jump right into them, just to mess with her. But what she said stuck with me, and I think it's true."
Timberlake: "The way I grew up, I was always taught that it's uncouth to talk about money, and that's not what should inspire you."
Timberlake: "Honestly, when you're making a movie, you never say, 'Oh, this one's going to suck and go straight to video.' When you're in it, you think you're doing the best work you can do. You're surrounded by people who are working hard. Everybody's hopeful."
Timberlake: "The best part about being alone is that you really don't have to answer to anybody. You do what you want."
Timberlake: "I was an only child and was obviously really bored, so I would entertain my parents by imitating cartoon voices like Scooby Doo, Boo Boo and others."
Timberlake: "Resolutions are just like rules. They're just made to be broken."
Timberlake: "You spend so much time developing a character when you do a film; so much of your work is done before you get set to shoot because you've been working on the character: the way he walks, the way he talks, what might upset him, what might make him happy."
Timberlake: "We've been in that situation where you're just so happy to be doing what you love to do that you get taken advantage of."
Timberlake: "My favorite thing in the world was to make people sing - until I made people laugh. Then that became my favorite thing in the world."
