I am Computer-Scientist and a Bio-informatician. I practice science and the scientific method in a world of theoretical and practical computational work and employ theoretical information theory and machine learning approaches to shed light on long-lasting biological questions.

I am also the academic director of the Machine Learning and Data Science (MLDS) MSc program at the Efi Arazi School of Computer Science in IDC Herzliya. This program is designed to train and educate ML engineers and scientists with a deep understanding of ML models, algorithms, and methodologies. We maintain a high academic level while also providing our students with opportunities to practice ML and DS in real-world scenarios through collaborative projects with leading players in industry and academia.

I completed my Ph.D. at the Faculty of Computer Science at the Technion in 2020. During my Ph.D., I worked together with my advisor and mentor Prof. Zohar Yakhini on a wide range of research projects at the intersection of computer science, machine learning, computational biology, and synthetic biology. One such project was the design of efficient coding schemes for storing digital information on synthetic DNA molecules. Before joining the faculty of CS, I received my B.Sc. degrees in industrial engineering and information systems management from the Technion in 2012. During my undergraduate studies I gained a broad toolkit and methodologies including advanced statistics, machine learning and algorithmic approaches. I graduated my M.Sc. degree in the Faculty of Biology at the Technion in 2015 where I studied development and evolution using single-cell RNA-Seq methods and analyses of large datasets using machine learning approaches.
