Lorie has always been a radiant force for good - brimming with compassion, courage, and an unshakable belief in the power of kindness. Though she lost her life after a courageous battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, her passion for protecting animals, uplifting children on the margins, and fostering a more empathetic, decent world continues to inspire everyone who knew her.
In her honor, The Lorie Lindsley Compassionate Hearts Legacy Fund has been created to carry forward the causes closest to Lorie’s heart. Every gift to this fund is a step toward the future she always hoped for - a future where the vulnerable are cared for, kindness is a daily practice, and love is something we live out loud. Join us in continuing Lorie’s legacy and shining her light.
Helping rescue animals, especially seniors, recover from neglect or hardship and find their forever homes
Meeting the essential needs of vulnerable children - food, shelter, education - impacted by cuts to government programs
Advancing human decency and compassion in a world where indifference and outright hostility too often prevail
Lorie's family has set up a charitable giving fund with the North Carolina Community Foundation. The fund will be established as a permanent endowed fund, with the family serving as advisors and recommending grants to qualified 501(c)(3) organizations whose mission is aligned with the causes listed above.
This photo was taken in January 2025, a couple of weeks before Lorie mentioned having an upset stomach. After a series of doctor’s visits, an ultrasound, and a CT scan, we received the devastating diagnosis that changed our family’s life forever.
Knowing that Lorie’s time would be far too short, we asked her permission to establish this fund so her positive impact would continue to ripple out into the world. Your gift to The Lorie Lindsley Compassionate Hearts Legacy Fund helps make that possible. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping Lorie's light continue to shine.
