You will become: a highly qualified personnel in the field of applied materials science and engineering. Specifically, by working in our group, you will have exceptional training opportunities through existing expertise, interdisciplinary, and international collaborations. You will become familiarized with the fields of energy, opto-electronics, and nano science and technology in general. Depending on your project of interest, you will become experts in fabrication (e.g. metal, semiconductor, dielectric hybrid materials, thin film fabrication including a vapor phase fabrication), surface chemistry/engineering as well as characterization (e.g., electrochemistry, spectroscopy, microscopy, simulations, automated data processing etc). You will receive training in applied materials science and engineering, nanoscience and technology, solid-state chemistry and physics, electrochemistry, and photochemistry. These skill sets are very versatile, meaning, it will offer various employment opportunities in both academic and industries and enable you to be globally competitive in the STEM workforce.

Undergraduates: There are positions for 3094 students , volunteers, SURP, and UROP students who want to engage in materials research projects. We welcome students from both science and engineering departments.

Graduates: Several positions are available for new graduate students.
