Privacy Policy
Date of Revision: [ September 9, 2026 ]
LED banner (the "APP") is developed and operated by Life Assistant Studio ("we", "us", "our" or the "Developer"). You can reach us at any time at LifeAssistantStudio@outlook.com.
The APP turns your phone into a scrolling LED sign. You type a message, choose a font, colour, background, scrolling direction and speed, and the APP displays it full screen. It can also show a drawing you make in the APP, play background music from your device, and save your favourite styles. For purposes of this Privacy Policy, "you" and "your" means you as the user of the APP.
Summary — the short version
What you create stays on your phone. Your message text, drawings, saved styles and settings are held only in the APP's private storage; photos, videos and music are read only at the moment you pick them and are never uploaded to us. There is no account, no sign-up and no login.
The APP is free and is supported by advertising. Advertising, analytics and crash reporting are provided by the third parties listed in Section 5, which process device and advertising identifiers rather than the content you create. Purchasing the premium upgrade removes advertising. Section 6 explains your choices, including how to opt out of personalised ads.
GDPR
If you are a resident of the European Union or the United Kingdom, you are protected by and enjoy additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 ("GDPR") and, as applicable, the UK GDPR. Sections 10 to 20 describe those rights and how to exercise them. Where the APP serves ads or uses analytics in the EEA or the UK, it asks for your consent through a consent form before those services collect anything that requires consent.
1. Definitions
At any time, please refer to the following definitions:
"Content" means the material you create or select inside the APP — the message text you type, the drawings you make, the styles you save, and the images, videos or music you choose from your device;
"Consent" means any freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous indication of your wishes by which you, by a statement or by a clear affirmative action, signify agreement to the Processing of Personal Data relating to you;
"Personal Data" means any information relating to you as an identified or identifiable person, such as your email address, device and advertising identifiers, IP address, or factors specific to your physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity;
"Processing" means any operation performed on Personal Data, whether or not by automated means, such as collection, recording, organisation, storage, adaptation, retrieval, use, disclosure, restriction, erasure or destruction;
"Services" means the display, customisation and storage features offered by the APP;
"Subscription" means a paid plan purchased through Google Play that unlocks the APP's premium features and removes advertising;
"User", "you" and "your" mean a person who has installed or is using the APP;
"Policies" means this Privacy Policy together with our Terms of Use and our Subscription & Cancellation Policy, in each case in the version we make available in the APP and on the store listing.
2. Purposes and legal bases
We Process Personal Data for the following purposes:
a. to provide the Services you ask for — displaying your message, applying the style you chose, and remembering your settings between sessions;
b. to complete and validate a purchase you make through Google Play, to unlock the corresponding feature, and to restore it if you reinstall or change device;
c. to display advertising in the free version, including rewarded ads that you choose to watch in order to unlock a feature once;
d. to measure how the APP is used, to diagnose crashes and performance problems, and to improve the APP;
e. to understand which campaign or channel led to your installation;
f. to respond to a request, question or complaint you send us;
g. to detect and prevent abuse, invalid ad traffic and fraudulent purchases;
h. to comply with our legal obligations.
The legal bases we rely on are: performance of a contract (a and b), your consent (c, d and e where consent is required in your jurisdiction, and for optional device permissions such as access to your music library), legitimate interests (f and g — keeping the APP working, answering you, and preventing abuse), and legal obligation (h).
3. What the APP stores on your device
The following is kept in the APP's private storage on your phone. It is not transmitted to us, and it is removed when you uninstall the APP or clear its data from Android Settings.
Your message text — the words you type to display on the banner.
Display settings — font, text and background colour, stroke, glow, dot-matrix effect, size, speed, blink, scrolling direction and orientation.
Saved styles and history — the combinations of settings you choose to save, so you can return to them later.
Drawings — anything you draw in the APP's drawing canvas.
App preferences — keep-screen-on, automatic maximum brightness, preview orientation and your selected language.
References to media you selected — when you pick a photo, video or music track, the APP stores a reference to that item so it can show it again next time. The file itself stays where it is on your device.
Purchase state — whether a premium entitlement is active on this device.
4. Device permissions
The APP requests the minimum set of Android permissions needed for its features. Each is used only for the stated purpose:
Photos and videos — requested only when you tap "Image" or "Video" to choose a banner background. The APP reads the item you select in order to display it. Nothing is uploaded.
Music and audio (READ_MEDIA_AUDIO, or READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE on Android 12 and below) — requested only when you open the music picker, so the APP can list the tracks on your device and play the one you choose. Nothing is uploaded.
Internet and network state — used to load advertising, to send analytics and crash reports, to reach Google Play for purchases, and to open our policy pages.
Advertising ID (AD_ID) — used by the advertising and attribution services in Section 5. See Section 6 for how to reset or delete it.
You may decline or later revoke any of these permissions in Android Settings. Declining a media permission only means the corresponding picker cannot list your files; the rest of the APP continues to work.
5. Third-party services
The following third parties process data in connection with the APP. None of them receives the message text, drawings, photos, videos or music you use inside the APP.
Google Play Billing (Google) — processes your payment using the payment method on your Google account and returns the purchase token and order identifier we use to validate the purchase and unlock the feature you paid for. We never receive or store your card, bank or address details.
Our advertising partners — serve the banner, interstitial and rewarded advertising shown in the free version. It processes your advertising identifier, IP address (from which an approximate, country-level location is derived), device and app information, and your interactions with ads, in order to select, deliver, cap the frequency of and measure ads, and to detect invalid traffic.
AppsFlyer — mobile install attribution. Processes your advertising identifier and Google Play install-referrer data solely to determine which campaign or channel led to your installation.
Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring) — processes a Firebase-generated app instance identifier together with usage events, crash reports and performance traces, so that we can measure how the APP is used and fix stability and speed problems.
Each provider processes data as an independent controller or as our processor in accordance with its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to review them. These providers may process data in countries outside your own, including the United States; where required, such transfers are covered by the Standard Contractual Clauses or another approved transfer mechanism.
6. Advertising and your choices
The free version of the APP shows advertising. Some features can also be unlocked once by choosing to watch a rewarded ad; watching is always your choice, and declining simply leaves the feature locked.
You have the following controls:
Remove ads entirely — purchase the premium upgrade or subscription described in our Subscription & Cancellation Policy. Advertising is then switched off.
Opt out of personalised ads — open Android Settings → Google → Ads (the exact path varies by device) and turn on "Opt out of Ads Personalisation", or delete your advertising ID entirely. Ads may still be shown, but they will not be personalised using that identifier.
Reset your advertising ID — in the same Android settings screen. This starts a fresh identifier that is not linked to the previous one.
EEA, UK and Switzerland — before advertising, analytics or attribution collect anything that requires consent, the APP presents a consent form. You may refuse, and you may change your choice later from the APP's Settings screen. Refusing consent does not remove any functionality other than personalised advertising.
We do not sell Personal Data for money. Depending on your jurisdiction, the processing of advertising identifiers for personalised advertising may be treated as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act; the opt-outs above are the means of exercising your right to opt out.
7. What the APP does not do
To be explicit, the APP:
does not require or offer an account, sign-up, login or password;
does not upload your message text, drawings, saved styles, photos, videos or music to us or to anyone else;
does not collect your precise location, contacts, calendar, call logs or SMS;
does not record audio or use the camera;
does not ask you for payment details — those are handled entirely by Google Play.
8. Feedback you send us
The APP contains a Feedback screen where you may write a message, optionally attach a screenshot, and optionally give an email address so that we can reply. What you submit is used solely to understand and answer your request.
You can always reach us directly at LifeAssistantStudio@outlook.com. If you do, we will hold your email address and the content of your message for as long as needed to deal with your request and to keep a record of it.
9. Sharing your personal information
We do not sell, trade or rent Personal Data. We may share information only:
a. with the service providers listed in Section 5, and only to the extent needed for the purpose described there;
b. with professional advisers (such as lawyers or accountants) where necessary to obtain their advice;
c. with legal or regulatory authorities, where required by applicable law; and
d. where you have asked us to.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that we do not own or control.
10. Sensitive Information
We will never ask you to provide Personal Data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, genetic or biometric data, or data concerning health or sexual orientation. Please do not include such information in a banner message or a feedback report. If you choose to do so anyway, you understand that you disclose it willingly.
11. Data Controller
This Privacy Policy is issued by Life Assistant Studio. When we say "we" or "us", we mean Life Assistant Studio, which is the controller of the Personal Data described here.
For any question about this Privacy Policy, or to exercise any of the rights in Sections 12 to 19, contact us at LifeAssistantStudio@outlook.com.
12. Right of access
You have the right to obtain confirmation as to whether we process Personal Data about you and, if so, to receive a copy of it and to check that we are processing it lawfully. Because the APP has no account, most of the data described in Section 3 is already in your possession, on your own device.
13. Retention
Data stored on your device (Section 3) is retained until you delete it in the APP, clear the APP's data in Android Settings, or uninstall the APP.
Analytics, crash and advertising data are retained by the providers in Section 5 according to their own retention schedules; Firebase Analytics data associated with an app instance identifier is retained for the period configured in the Firebase console and is then deleted or aggregated.
Purchase records held by Google Play are retained by Google under its own policies. Where we hold a record of a purchase in order to honour or verify an entitlement, or to meet tax and accounting obligations, we keep it for as long as those obligations require.
Correspondence you send us is kept for as long as needed to deal with your request and, thereafter, for as long as we may need it to defend a legal claim.
14. Children
The APP is not directed to children and is not intended for use by anyone under 13 years of age, or the higher minimum age that applies in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children, and we do not serve personalised advertising to users we know to be children. If you believe a child has provided us with Personal Data, contact us and we will delete it.
15. Third-party links
The APP may link to third-party pages, and advertising may take you to a third-party destination when you tap it. We do not control those pages and are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of every site you visit.
16. Change of control
If the APP is transferred to, merged with or acquired by another developer or organisation, Personal Data may be among the assets transferred. It will remain subject to this Privacy Policy, or to a policy at least as protective, and we will make the change public before it takes effect.
17. Right to rectification
You have the right to have inaccurate Personal Data concerning you corrected without undue delay, and to have incomplete data completed. We may need to verify the accuracy of the new data you provide.
18. Right to restriction, objection and portability
You may ask us to suspend the processing of your Personal Data where: (a) you want us to establish its accuracy; (b) our processing is unlawful but you do not want the data erased; (c) you need us to keep it in order to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim; or (d) you have objected to our processing and we are verifying whether we have overriding legitimate grounds.
You also have the right to object to processing carried out on the basis of our legitimate interests, an unconditional right to object to processing for direct marketing purposes, and the right to receive the Personal Data you provided in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.
19. Withdrawal of consent and right to erasure
Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time — for example by changing your choice in the consent form, revoking a media permission, or opting out of ads personalisation in Android Settings. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it.
You have the right to obtain the erasure of Personal Data concerning you without undue delay where there is no good reason for us to continue processing it. Because the APP stores its own data on your device, you can erase all of it yourself at any time: delete the items in the APP, or clear the APP's data in Android Settings → Apps → LED banner → Storage → Clear data, or uninstall the APP. To ask us to erase anything else we hold, write to LifeAssistantStudio@outlook.com.
20. Time limit to respond
We try to respond to all legitimate requests within one month. If your request is particularly complex, or if you have made several requests, it may take us longer; in that case we will tell you and keep you updated. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
21. Data Security
We have put in place measures appropriate to the data involved. Data created in the APP is held in the application's private storage, which Android isolates from other applications. Network communication uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Payment credentials never pass through the APP.
No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Where we are legally required to do so, we will notify you and the competent authority of a Personal Data breach.
22. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time — in particular if the services listed in Section 5 change. The current version governs our handling of your information, and the date at the top of this page tells you when it was last revised. If we make a material change, we will make the new version available in the APP before it takes effect. By continuing to use the APP after that, you agree to the revised Privacy Policy.
Please keep a copy of this document, and feel free to ask us any question or raise any concern about it.
