The Leaside Sport & Social Club Development Leagues are for beginner, novice and intermediate players who are looking for structured skill and game play development. The program will help participants who:
desire more structured skill development than what is offered in house leagues
may eventually want to play at a competitive level
may want to try out for school teams
want the cross training benefits of playing one sport to help them in another sport of the same game category
want to improved skills and game play awareness to help them have fun on the playground and stay fit
All leagues will have:
a certified head coach
age appropriate progressive and sequenced skill development and training
age appropriate equipment
maximum movement and on ball time
game play will be competitive but the focus will remain on player development - All Players will Receive Equal Game Time
Aron Tonon is a high school Health & Physical Education Teacher, Department Head and Athletic Program Director with over 20 years of daily teaching experinece. Aron has his NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program) Certification for Basketball and has 15 years experience as a High School Senior Boys Team Head Coach. Aron lead his teams to numerous tournament Championships as well as Regional and Provincial Championship (OFSSA) qualifications. Aron also helped design and develop a senior level Ontario Ministry of Education approved Basketball Specific High School course for his school's Heath & Physical Education department.
