My Story

Storytelling can help build community in my future class because it creates shared emotional connections. When I shared my 4th-grade story about teachers recognizing my struggles and showing empathy, I wasn’t just telling about myself; I was showcasing authenticity and vulnerability. Stories like mine help students see that the classroom is more than an academic space, but a supportive community where each student matters. 

Students' personal stories support a classroom of trust and cooperation, while also creating opportunities to connect the curriculum to real life. 

I want to use these features to support my teaching by creating playlists related to different topics or skill levels so students can review content independently. This allows for instructional videos to be watched outside of class when help may be needed at home or away from the classroom.
