IDOE Learning Walk Partnership

The Indiana Department of Education's Office of Academics is excited to support schools in the implementation of learning walks, a peer driven approach to providing non-evaluative feedback for teachers to inform instruction, and in turn, improve desired student outcomes. Teachers who go on non-evaluative walk-throughs of their colleagues' classrooms will learn how to improve their own instruction, discover ways to innovate in their own classroom, and form new relationships. Learning walks strengthen and improve the overall culture and climate of the school.

Please note, if selected as a partner school, your team will need to attend two virtual, half day trainings on July 12 and 14 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. (ET), conduct a minimum of three learning walks from August 2021 through December 2021, and consider an opportunity to collaborate on a train-the-trainer model in summer 2022.

"If we create a culture where every teacher believes they need to improve, not because they aren't good enough, but because they can be even better, there is no limit to what we can achieve." - education researcher Dylan Wiliam
