Learning Challenges Committee

If you are a student with learning challenges, or the parent of a student with learning challenges – YOU ARE NOT ALONE. There is help and understanding out there, and the LCC is committed to helping families, teachers and students dealing with learning challenges. Whether your student has an IEP, a 504, or you are just getting started on the journey of finding help for your student, you are welcome

The Learning Challenges Committee of the Los Altos-Mountain View PTA Council is made up of parents, teachers and students in the Mountain View and Los Altos areas. We are committed to getting the best education for students with learning challenges and/or special education needs. We work with the administration of the Mountain View Whisman School District the Los Altos School District and the Mountain View-Los Altos United High School District to achieve and maintain excellent standards for educating children with learning challenges.

We strive to foster communication, share information, and help our children become active and successful participants in our community. As a group, we can better represent our needs and concerns to the administration and the School Boards. We can do more for our kids, like provide additional funding for classroom supplies for special needs, provide information on resources and opportunities throughout the community, and share our stories, challenges, tragedies and triumphs with other parents and teachers who understand.

We welcome all parents, educators, and community members who are interested in our work.
