1) Pattern: S+Time+ V+ O or Time +S+V+O.
We use this pattern to describe activities in a time.
For example:
我星期一打棒球。Wǒ xīngqīyī dǎ bàngqiú. I play baseball on Mondays.
If we want to emphasize the date ( it's Monday, not other days), we will advance the word Monday to the beginning of the sentence.
星期一我打棒球。Xīngqīyī wǒ dǎ bàngqiú. On Mondays, I play baseball.
2) 打(dǎ)，踢 (tī) and 玩(wán)
The above three verbs all mean "to play a sport/game" in Chinese.
打(dǎ) originally means "to hit with hand", therefore it means "to play sports by hand" when talking about sports. For example,
