1) Pattern:
(S+ zhǎng de shénmeyàng?) How does +S+ look?
A: S 有.... S has.....
or S 的 sth. adj. adj. de
This pattern is used to describe one's physical features.
For example:
How does your dad look?
(Tā yǒu dà dà de yǎnjing hé cháng cháng de tuǐ.) He has big eyes and long legs.
(Tā de yǎnjing dà dà de, tuǐ cháng cháng de.) His eyes are big and legs are long.
(Tā de yǎnjing hěn dà , tuǐ hěn cháng.) His eyes are very big and legs are very long.
2) Pattern: adj.+adj+的 (de)
When we make comments on someone's look, In order to be polite, we use adj.+adj.+的(de) pattern to soften the tone.
For example: 大大的(dà dà de)=大 (dà) big 小小的 (xiǎo xiǎo de)=小(xiǎo )small
It sounds more polite than simply using 大 or 小.
