Place Matters

Northwest Dayton Partnership (NWDP) is a cross-sector effort to engage residents, parents, children, government, schools, colleges, nonprofits, neighborhood groups, and faith-based organizations to work on solutions together. We believe that the people living, working, and going to school in the neighborhoods need to be the center of this effort.

The NWDP is pulling together a number of projects and investments across these neighborhoods to achieve change that is greater than just the sum of individual parts.

We welcome your feedback and participation in this process as we build on neighborhood and personal assets to help the youth succeed. We want to engage the community in solutions that address needs of children from birth onward while supporting parents. Racial, ethnic, and economic equity is crucial to this work.

Launch of the Northwest Dayton Partnership

With funding from a national foundation, the Northwest Dayton Partnership launched in August 2021. The NWDP will fund programs, projects, and collaborations designed to provide neighborhood-based, two-generation support that advances racial and economic equity, such as early childhood education, quality K-12 schools, and wraparound services for children and their families. The Northwest Dayton Partnership also benefits from funding already committed to the area and new investments that are occurring.

With community input, some funding will be distributed to deeply connected, yet historically under-resourced organizations to help build civic infrastructure. The NWDP also will bring best practices and technical assistance to the area.
