App Usage & Installed Packages: To identify when a restricted application or game is launched and display the learning lock screen, our app accesses the list of installed applications and device usage statistics with explicit parental authorization.
Study & Mastery Metrics: Quiz scores, completion history, study schedules, and time-earned logs are stored locally or associated with your parental profile to power the Mastery Map and weekly planner.
Device & Technical Information: Non-personal technical diagnostics, crash logs, and operating system versions collected to maintain app stability and performance.
2. Permissions
To function properly as an educational lock and parental guidance tool, our app requests specific Android permissions:
Camera Permission (android.permission.CAMERA): Used solely to scan educational pages. We do not capture, record, or store photos of faces, personal surroundings, or children.
Usage Access / Package Visibility (QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES / PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS): Required to detect when a parent-locked application is opened so that the study verification screen can be displayed.
Display Over Other Apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): Used to overlay the quiz interface over locked games or applications until the study requirement is met.
Foreground Service - Special Use: Used to run a continuous, persistent foreground service essential for real-time monitoring of restricted application launches and precise tracking of earned screen time sessions.
3. Children’s Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K Compliance)
Our app is designed for families and operated under direct parental supervision.
Parental Verification Gate: All study questions, schedules, and unlock configurations require parental review and confirmation before child access.
No Personal Data Collection from Children: We do not collect names, addresses, phone numbers, persistent advertising identifiers (AAID), or biometric data from children.
No Behavioral or Personalized Ads: We do not serve targeted or behavioral advertising to children. Any ads displayed comply with Google Play Families Policy and COPPA standards.

We use collected information exclusively to:
Generate personalized flashcards, fill-in-the-blank, and multiple-choice quizzes from scanned syllabus pages.
Enforce parent-defined screen time limits and unlock rules.
Present learning analytics via the in-app Mastery Map.

5. Data Security & Retention
Text extraction and question generation data are processed securely.
Study progress, locked app selections, and custom timer configurations are stored locally on your device or encrypted during transmission.
Scanned images used for syllabus processing are discarded after text conversion unless explicitly saved by the parent within the application.
6. User Rights & Data Deletion
Parents maintain complete control over all data:
You can revoke any permission (Camera, Usage Access, Overlays) at any time through your Android device settings.
You can delete all custom decks, scanned syllabi, schedules, and progress history directly within the app settings or by uninstalling the application.
