LDSAFA will participate in RootsTech 2018

LDSAFA will participate in RootsTech 2018, which will be held in Salt Lake City, Utah, on February 28 - March 3, 2018. At this conference LDSAFA will sponsor a booth where free patron information will be distributed about LDS Ancestral Family Organizations (AFOs).

Also during RootsTech 2018, LDSAFA officers and members will provide a class presentation on Family Organizations in the Digital Age.

LDSAFA will have a display booth (# 406) at RootsTech 2018 where free information will be distributed to visitors. This booth is being sponsored by the following LDS Ancestral Family Organizations who are member organizations of LDSAFA:

LDSAFA Member Presentations at RootsTech 2018

Wednesday, February 28, 2018, 3:00-4:00 PM: Top Ten Clues Provided by Death Records. Presentation by Mauri S. Pratt, Secretary of the Jared Pratt Family Association. This presentation will explore the six distinct categories of death records and how these types of death records can reveal many clues to help people discover more about their ancestors.

Friday, March 2, 2018, 1:30-2:30 PM: Collaboration - Families and Associations. Presentation by Gordon M. Taylor, past President and Vice-President of Descendant Research for the Joseph Taylor Sr. Family Association. This presentation will discuss collaboration within families and associations on several different levels.

Saturday, March 3, 2018, 1:30-2:30 PM: Family Organizations in the Digital Age. Presentation by R. Clayton Brough, Secretary of LDSAFA, with contributions from Richard E. Braegger, President of the Braithwaite Family Organization, R. Shane Brough, President of the Brough Family Organization, Michael A. Kennedy, President of the Joseph Smith Jr. and Emma Hale Historical Society, and Alison U. Brough, Secretary of the Nichols and Booth Family Organization. This presentation will discuss the latest proven methods on how to successfully start, sustain and grow family organizations in the digital age.

Wednesday, February 28, 2018: LDSAFA Exhibit Booth set up: 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Exhibit Hall open to patrons from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Thursday, March 1, 2018: Conference and Exhibit Hall open to patrons: 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM

Friday, March 2, 2018: Conference and Exhibit Hall open to patrons: 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM

Saturday, March 3, 2018: Conference and Exhibit Hall open to patrons: 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM. LDSAFA Exhibit Booth dismantle: 4:30 PM to Midnight
