The Los Angeles County Sexual and Gender Diverse Women's Health Collaborative: LBQT+ includes members representing healthcare facilities, government agencies, community organizations, and academic institutions.
In 2008, the City Council of the City of West Hollywood adopted the Lesbian Health Bill of Rights, which was written by the City of West Hollywood's Lesbian Visibility Committee. Members of the Lesbian Visibility Committee worked with the L.A. County Office of Women's Health to host the first meeting of local key stakeholders in lesbian and bisexual women's health. This evolved into the L.A. County Lesbian, Bisexual & Queer Women's Health Collaborative (LBQWHC), established in 2009. In recognition of the evolving work of the collaborative, the name was changed in 2024 to SGDWHC to be more inclusive and responsive to the needs to the LBQT+ women.
The objectives of the SGDWHC are to:
Promote the delivery of culturally competent care and services to lesbian, bisexual, and queer women
Address intersectionality within lesbian, bisexual, and queer women's health
Advocate for health equity for lesbian, bisexual, and queer women
