E.G. Walden

Basketball

Class of 1983

The 6-7 Walden was a dominant big man who was a driving force in the Green Wave becoming the first Shore Conference team to win an NJSIAA Tournament of Champions game when they defeated Shabazz in 1997, before eventual champion St. Anthony’s ended their 23-game winning streak. They also ended CBA’s four-year run of success in the SCT final that year.

As a senior, Walden helped power the Green Wave to a second straight state title, scoring 14 points in the South Jersey Group II final against Camden, which was marred by a postgame brawl at Brick Memorial, and 15 points in their win over Parsippany in the final.
