Rosalie Guzzi was born and raised in Long Branch, where her athletic career began with recreational baseball. Starting with the Cap League, Rosalie went on to join the Little League after Elementary School.
The lack of a Middle School girls softball program did not keep her from participating in school activities. Excelling as a band member, she received the Band Director’s Award and played for the All Shore Band. Rosalie took advantage of the Middle School's basketball program, and continue playing recreational baseball for the town of Long Branch, eventually joining the Babe Ruth Recreational Baseball League.
Throughout high school, she was a member of the marching, symphonic, pit, and jazz bands.
Although her high school athletic career included the swim, basketball, and softball teams, it was in softball that she stood out. For this sport she received All-Shore record recognition and the honor of being captain. Rosalie also did extremely well in academics, as evidenced by her membership in the National Honor Society and receipt of the Louis Armstrong Award, The Green Wave Association Award and Scholarship, the Lions Club Scholarship and the Edward J Bloustein scholarship.
After graduating Long Branch High School, Ms. Guzzi attended Montclair State University. Here she was awarded the Evira Demuth Perkins Scholarship for her high academic standing and her positive contribution in the field of physical education. Rosalie's athletic career continued as she played for the Montclair State University softball team. Successes continue to mount as you receive the Freshman of the Year award, was announced to the All-Tournament, All Region, and All American teams; And was again pronounced captain. In 1997, the team progressed to the Division 3 Softball World Series in Eau Claire, Wisconsin where she ended her softball career as a member of the nation's number two ranked team.
In December 1998 Rosalie graduated from Montclair State University and returned to Long Branch Public Schools. While teaching at the Middle School, Ms. Guzzi he has existed in the coaching of junior varsity basketball and Varsity Softball.
