Born and raised in Long Branch, Dawan Elliott has won acclaim for his skill and baseball.

During the four years he played baseball at Long Branch High School Dawan won many awards. He began playing varsity baseball for the Green Wave in his sophomore year. The next year, in one game, Dawan threw a no-hitter, hit two home runs, 5 RBIs, and went on to bat over 400 for the season.

Mr Elliott finished his senior year season batting over 500, with 12 doubles, five triples, 37 RBIs and 13 stolen bases. Dwayne was named First Team All Shore, All Monmouth, and first team All State by the Asbury Park Press. In addition he was named to the Associated Press’ first team All State.

It was during his impressive senior year that the Pittsburgh Pirates draft in Dawan Elliott in the fifth round. Dawan is still playing professional baseball, and has been involved with several Major League programs such as; the Cincinnati Reds and New York Mets.

Dawan credits his family, teachers, coaches, and teammates for helping him to succeed.
