i carry you with me as we both slip back into the dark explores a different way of collaborating with, learning from, and relating to the presence of the more-than-human. inspired by an encounter with a crow during its last hours on this earth, the work attempts to honour other beings and disrupt ideas of human superiority and the human / animal binary. the piece asks how we might move away from an anthropocentric way of living on and viewing the earth, and instead move towards a more equitable way of caring for and co-existing with other species.
it was first performed in february 2025 at the cca in glasgow as part of the into the new festival.
