A lifelong animal lover, Lauren Swist has always considered herself to be a dog person. That passion for animals is taken to the next level with her recent dog training pursuits. She has trained her own dog in becoming therapy animal certified and looks forward to helping to train other animals to do the same. Together, Lauren and her dog visit local nursing homes and hospitals, providing support and comfort to people while they face the hardship of critical medical care. This experience has inspired Lauren to pursue a career in nursing, which she will begin training for in the coming years.
Outside of her therapy dog visits at nursing homes and hospitals, Lauren Swist is also actively involved in various volunteer efforts in her community. For years, she has volunteered at a local soup kitchen in the area. Continuing with her love of animals, Lauren also supports local animal rescues, shelters and other nonprofit organizations that connect animals with loving homes. In the future, she hopes to launch a project training animals that she fosters to be therapy service certified.
