I am an empirical researcher and data analyst in the field of corporate governance and finance. My research focuses on the interrelation of alternative corporate governance mechanisms in European firms.

I obtained my PhD in Financial Economics from the Autonoma University of Madrid, Spain. After graduating with honors, my thesis “CEO Compensation, Board of Directors and Corporate Governance in European Companies” received the excellence Award to the best PH.D. thesis in business economics (Premio Extraordinario de Doctorado, 2013).

In addition to my academic experience, I have extensive international working experience in the private sector, where I have proven strengths in business development and value creation through globalization. I have worked and lived in different European countries (Spain, Finland, UK, Germany and Austria). This multicultural background has provided in-depth understanding of different languages and cultures, and has definitely influenced my business style and research interests.
