Atlantis North Lawn - I always call this the 'last resort and I was at KSC anyway' because it's not a great view, it's behind a treeline about 7.25 miles (11.71km) from 39-A, 10 miles (16.1 km) from SLC-40. It's an okay spot, but unless you were planning to spend the day at KSC and for some reason couldn't get out to the Saturn V Center, I would consider other locations, even if this is a 'little bit' closer.
Below is the best (and only) video I could find that gives an accurate depiction of a launch as seen from the North Lawn. This is the launch of the first Falcon Heavy back in 2018. There aren't a whole lot of other videos from this location, and you'll see why. Even though a launch of Falcon Heavy is a beautiful sight, you can get this perspective without paying admission fees to KSCVC. Again, worth it if you were already planning to be at KSCVC but I wouldn't go just for this. There's a reason they call this ticket 'Feel The Fun,' because even in the short clip below, you can get a vibe of the crowd excitement seeing the launch.Â
