In 2008, Raj returns to India and decides to seek forgiveness from Mahi and Radhika for his past deeds. He first goes to Punjab, where Mahi is married to Joginder Ahluwalia (Kunal Kapoor), a wealthy businessman. Raj pretends to be Joginder's childhood friend and tries to win Mahi's trust.
