PRIVACY POLICY – LATE APP
LATE (“we”, “our”, “the App”) values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your information when you use our platform. By using the App, you agree to the terms of this policy.
1. INTERMEDIARY STATUS & DISCLAIMER
LATE is an Intermediary under Section 79 of the Information Technology Act, 2000. We are a technology marketplace that facilitates information exchange between independent users. We do not provide transportation services.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Personal Information: Name, phone number, and profile picture.
Documents: Self-uploaded identity proofs (Driving License, Aadhaar, RC). Note: LATE acts as a storage host only; we do not verify the authenticity or validity of these documents.
Location Data: We collect Precise Background Location (with your consent) to provide real-time ride leads based on your proximity, even when the app is closed or not in use.
Device Data: Device type, OS version, and app usage analytics for performance optimization.
3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
Connecting passengers with nearby independent drivers.
Sending real-time notifications for ride opportunities.
Ensuring platform security and preventing fraudulent accounts.
4. DATA SHARING & DISCLOSURE
Marketplace Sharing: Your contact details and ride requirements are shared with the counterparty (driver/passenger) only after a lead is accepted.
Third-Parties: We do NOT sell or rent your personal data to third-party marketers. Data is shared only with trusted cloud providers (e.g., AWS/Google Cloud) for hosting.
Legal Necessity: Data may be shared with law enforcement if required by a valid legal order.
5. FARE & SUBSCRIPTION CLARITY
Subscription Fees: Any fee paid to LATE is for Platform Access only. It is not a booking fee, commission, or ride fare.
Indicative Pricing: Any fare ranges shown are purely indicative. The final fare is a private contract between the driver and passenger. LATE is not responsible for payment disputes.
6. DATA RETENTION & DELETION
User Control: Users can request account deletion via the "Settings" section of the App.
Retention: Upon deletion, personal data is removed from active databases. However, we may retain certain logs for legal/regulatory compliance as per Indian law.
7. SECURITY & LIMITATION
We use industry-standard encryption to protect your data.
User Responsibility: Users are solely responsible for the accuracy of the documents they upload. LATE bears no liability for forged or expired documents uploaded by users.
8. ELIGIBILITY (CHILDREN)
The App is strictly for users aged 18 years and above. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
9. YOUR RIGHTS
You can access/edit your profile anytime.
You can revoke Location Permissions via your phone settings (though this will limit app functionality).
