I'm trying to put a show on my friends Google Chromebook but the mp4 files show up black when trying to watch them on said Chromebook, audio works fine. I found out that it is a video encoding problem but I cannot find a list of video formats that work on the Chromebook. I have ffmpeg and handbrake to try and test some things, but if someone could tell me a ffmpeg code that will convert the video files into a format that works on a Google Chromebook that would help a lot.

I don't really understand how metadata are fetched for TV shows season names. My folders and files are named correctly according to the documentation, I'll take the example of Game of Thrones and The Pacific:

Recently purchased the KDL50W829B and have no problems with it except for one, but it's a major one, as being able to play media from an external USB HDD was one of the reasons for upgrading. I am using a WD 500GB HDD only containing video files of various formats, no mp3s or other types of files on it. the problem is as follows:

3. (When in Media Player) At this stage time varies but the result is always the same. Sometimes it crashes when trying to access the Media Player. Sometimes it crashes while scanning the files on the HDD. Sometimes it scans and displayes all the media on the HDD and crashes when I try to browse them. Sometimes it even lets me play a file or two, but most times it doesn't.

As I said I cannot play anything from a USB stick or Serviio/Homestream media server point of view at all, however I have discovered that I can play .MOV files that have been recorded using a Sony NEX camera! The system finds these and plays them fine!

Since my post I have been succesful at one thing. Some files work without crashing the TV. I have deleted the files that I thought TV did not agree with (MKV files) and since then had very few crashes, but still had them. Unfortunately the files I have deleted are supposed to be supported by the TV according to the Codec list provided above, unless I am not seeing something, so please feel free to correct me. I will post 3 mediainfo lists here. The first file works fine. The second and third do not and crash the TV. Just having these files on the USB drive crashes the Media player and TV, even if I don't try to access them.

And if you do it just crashes the whole TV. Now if these files are not compatible then I can accept that, but surely the TV should tell you they are not compatible and not just completely crash and make you unplug it. Or am I missing something here.

Hello,

I recently went through and transferred my GOT blu rays to my pc and needed the non-English subtitles when converting the raw files to mp4. I did not create the actual subtitle files for seasons 1-3. I corrected some timings and translations to make them the best that I could. I could not find the non-English part subtitles for seasons 4 and 5 so I had to make my own.

I had great difficulty finding quality subtitle files and like I said I even had to make my own for some of them. I just felt I should share my work so other people don't have to deal with the same struggle.

The subtitles files should have all non-english parts. If there are any missing lines then they were missing from the actual live broadcast version of the show so I did not include them. I felt that they were meant to be mysterious and not have us know what they were saying. This happens occasionally and for the live version it would just say "(Speaks Dothraki)" or whatever language it would be in.

The subtitle files are in the .srt format. I am not sure how you would use them for a fire stick as I simply used them to burn in the subtitles to the actual video when I formatted the raw bluray files I ripped.

Sorry guys, major apologies for the delay. This semester seriously kicked my ass. There were actually only 4 episodes with non English parts for season 7 but I like to be very thorough (watch once through and make note of parts that need subtitles, create and sync the subtitle files, and then watch again to make sure there aren't any I missed and that the ones I made are synced correctly) Big thanks to ryderR1 for providing the season 7 subtitles as well! They seem to be correct and complete! I combined the subs I had already done with the ones he/she provided and updated the mediafire link in my original post with the season 7 non English subs both in an individual file and added on to the complete zip as well. Enjoy! (And let me know if anyone finds any issues with them. Just to reiterate, they are synced with the US blu-ray rips).

Hi, I just wanted to thank you for these! I am embedding them into mp4s. Random question or maybe not so much, would you happen to have a source for season 8 or made additional files for it? Thanks again! be457b7860
