“One of the West Coast's finest Northern Soul bands – THE INCITERS! An overpowering 10 piece dance floor soul band that has brought the house down from LA to Chicago and all across Europe, releasing 3 albums to date on Grover/Elmo Records in Germany and “ DOING FINE” which was recorded in Chicago and released by JUMP UP in 2000. The band released “Soul Clap” on JUMP UP in February 2012.

THE INCITERS play Northern Soul music, a genre that originated in the north of England in the 1960s, taking inspiration from America’s Stax and Motown greats like the Temptations, Stevie Wonder and the Supremes.

Northern Soul takes the Motown/Stax ethic but adds a stronger back-beat with more adventurous production, and THE INCITERS continue this tradition with a new album for 2023! With 10 members wielding drums, bass, guitar, a full horn section, and three strong female vocalists, THE INCITERS have no problem filling a room with the powerful sound of soul. The three vocalists — Sabi Kendrick, Rizzie Vacketta and Aimee Gruber — lead the band through finely crafted original songs as well as traditional soul music that will get you out of your seat and start to dance. Their choreography has an improvisational character to it as each of the singers cues off the moves of the others. THE INCITERS first formed back in 1995 and had a successful 10-year run before breaking up in 2005 – leaving behind a massive following in Europe that demanded their return year after year. In 2009, they got their wish as original member / bandleader Rick Kendrick went to work putting the band back together. THE INCITERS re-formed with some new, younger faces and picked up right where they left off. Right after the group reformed, they embarked on another successful European tour, released a teaser 7” single on Scorcha in Germany, and then got to work to record their comeback album for 2012 – SOUL CLAP! Stay tuned for a new album for 2023!!!!”

The Chelsea Curve

The Chelsea Curve want to make you move. But how you do it is up to you.

With a sonic template rooted in retro mod-pop but with enough snarl to roll with the punks and whipsmart hooks to hang with the rock and roll crowd, the Boston trio have in March 2022 unleashed their debut album “All The Things” via red-hot indie label Red On Red Records. Already being touted as one of the best albums of 2022, The Chelsea Curve further raised the stakes with a raging set of shows in the UK in May which culminated with a head-turning appearance at the 2022 Boston Calling Music Festival.

Inspired by Boston and British culture, the mod-pop trio switched on in 2019 with a singular mission to create infectious, punchy, sing-along rock and roll. Armed with an arsenal of catchy tunes appealing to both the clubs and the pubs, and properly bonded over a love of ʻ70s punk and the mod style of sound, The Chelsea Curve are composed of Linda Pardee (bass and vocals) and Tim Gillis (guitar and vocals), with Ron Belanger (drums) holding down the steady backbeat.

An immediate fixture on Bostonʼs live music circuit, the fledgling Chelsea Curve joined the Whistlestop tour at the start of 2020. But as the pandemic shook up the music landscape, the trio shifted gears from the stage to the screen, linking up with New England-based independent label Red On Red Records to outline a grand plan of releasing colorful new music while the clubs remained dark. With a full albumʼs worth of material at the ready, Pardee, Gillis, and Belanger launched The Singles Scene in 2021, an eight-month rollout of one new song every four weeks, earning a steady presence on both social media and in-the-know radio stations and shows around the world.

With The Singles Scene songs now out in the wild – and finally performed for live audiences – each are featured, alongside some brand new cuts, on The Chelsea Curveʼs debut record “All The Things”, released March 2022 on Red on Red Records. Next up was a stunning hit-and-run dash of UK shows to support the record in their proper home away from home in May 2022, which preceded their triumphant homecoming show at the 2022 Boston Calling Music Festival.

Itʼs clear that everyone who listens to The Chelsea Curve connects the bandʼs influence to their own personal favorites of yesterday. But with the debut LP out now and global radio play amplifying their presence louder with each mod-pop offering, The Chelsea Curve are quickly forging their own rock and roll path connecting the past to the present.

And in their world, there is no standing still.
