A: It is our goal to one day distribute outside the United States but that time will likely be quite a few years off if only for the fact that we don't make that much wine! Additionally, buying directly through our website for shipment outside the US is likely not viable for the foreseeable future.
Almost all of the grapes come from Love Ranch vineyard in Madera County, near Coarsegold. This certified-organic vineyard is situated near the southern gate of Yosemite on rolling hills at about 2,000 feet above sea level. The climate is very hot there; it can get up to 90 degrees F by 10am. The soils are free-draining granitic granitic schist. This combination of factors means the grapes ripen quickly, and fruit from Love Ranch is often the first into the winery each year. Because the Mourvedre and Grenache Noir had low yields, we decided to add Carignan from Aspesi Ranch, an old-vine vineyard near Fresno that is farmed organically by Oscar Ramos, who also farms Love Ranch. We also added a touch of early picked viognier to give some acidity to the blend.
This is a carbonic co-ferment wine that we made in several tanks, each of which we treated differently. We treated this wine to cold carbonic macerations from 11-14 days long. After press, we fermented the juice from each lot separately in stainless steel. We combined the lots once they were dry. Primary and malo-lactic fermentation were native. There have been no additions to this wine.

This is the fourth vintage of our sparkling wine utilizing the unique method that we call methode untraditionelle. We have found that many sparkling wines can be quite gauche as a result of the compromises the winemakers have to make with the traditional method. Our unique method results in a wine that is very refined and elegant with nothing forced. Here we find a copper hue, a nose of green strawberry, hay in the breeze, toasted hazelnuts and marshmallow. On the palate there is apricot, comice pear and cocoa enveloped in a fine texture. There is a long finish with crisp lime like acidity. This wine will age beautifully over the next several years.
The hand-picked grapes were whole cluster pressed to a tall skinny stainless steel tank. After racking the clear juice at about 250 NTU, we warmed it up to initiate fermentation. When the wine started to tick, we set the cooling on the tank to 68ÂF and let the wine ferment naturally. We gradually brought down the temperature while it was fermenting until it was around 50ÂF. When the wine reached about 2 brix we chilled the tank to arrest fermentation. The juice had other plans and actually tried to keep fermenting, even with the tank at 40F! We had to filter the wine to get it to stop. We let the tank sit cold for several weeks to naturally cold stabilize. When it was time to bottle, we racked the wine, added a small amount of organic yeast extract (food for the yeast) and a Champagne yeast culture. The wine was stored sur latte (on its side) for 15 months before it was disgorged. We simply topped the bottles after disgorging and did not add any sugar or sulfur.

UPS and other carriers we might occasionally use can only deliver wine to customers who are 21 years or older. Someone must be at the address to receive the package, carriers don't just drop a package and leave. They must ensure the person receiving the wine is 21 or older.
If a package gets returned to us after three failed delivery attempts, we can only re-ship the wine upon payment of a re-shipping fee to be determined based on shipping address and number of bottles. Shipping wine is extremely expensive, we are sorry about this, but we have no other choice. Please make sure there's always someone at the address you enter as your shipping address.
UPS and FedEx declared that in order to protect their workers and customers, they no longer require a signature on delivery. This does not mean they will drop a wine box at your door. UPS delivery workers will make sure the person receiving the wine is 21 years or older, and will ask for his/her name - only then do they deliver the package.
