I have recently build my second home server. And it is working great the only weird thing that i would like to solve is that my Samba transfer speed from Windows 10 to my server is mostly around 100mbps and on the same computer with ubuntu i get around 60mbps. With my macbook i also get around 60mbps. All of this is with a gigabit network setup. (No wireless)I have tried multiple guides to speed up my samba share but they don't seem to improve anything.I'm running ubuntu server 14.04.02 lts

After further monitor this server about 2 months now with same traffic( no significant changes) it seems that my php application runs more smoothly and faster about 1 hour after rebooting the server than when the server runs for a week without reboot.

Hi guys, I was working with Docker on a Win11 machine and the application run very very slow, around 30 seconds or even 1 minute to load a single page (not easy to work like this ).

I have the same application running in Elastic Beanstalk (AWS) smoothly and fast, even I tried to run a Xamp server and everything worked fine, the problem is when I use Docker. Currently, I am working on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS but I have the same problem. I also installed Docker desktop, but it does not matter what I do, the result is always the same (very very slow responses), is there something I can do?

I tested several types of scrips (web scraping; modeling...) the Dell Laptop is always faster. Can you provide me some guidance? I always set in the server session options(Ncpus = parallel::detectCores(all.tests = FALSE, logical = TRUE)-2) to use the maximum number of available Cpus minus 2.

Lubuntu is an Ubuntu spin-off that is particularly lean and fast. Although the operating system has the reputation of being particularly suitable for old computers, the newer versions are great for a more modern desktop environment.

Lubuntu has the reputation of being an operating system for old and underperforming computers. The derivative definitely lives up to this reputation. Due to the low requirements, the system acts as a lifesaver for old notebooks or desktop PCs that would otherwise no longer be usable. However, newer versions of Lubuntu are no longer only suitable as an operating system for old models. With its modern desktop environment, the Ubuntu descendant is also worth considering for newer computers due to its efficiency and speed. However, if you want to prioritize performance and use many different applications, there are more suitable Linux server distributions out there.

The following two are Google DNS, admittedly, if Google is broken, we all think the Internet is broken. Hence the reason of using Google DNS. You can choose other DNS servers like CloudFlare if you want that are fast and reliable.

Next, search for the existing server domain (e.g. us.archive.ubuntu.com) and then replace it with repo.extreme-ix.org. At the prompt, perform this replacement for all entries.

Download the latest Ubuntu 20.04 ISO from the Ubuntu website. At the time of this writing, that was the ubuntu-20.04.5-live-server-amd64.iso. The latest ISO ensures that the Linux kernel is as new as possible to support newer hardware.

Ubuntu Server 18.10 includes the Rocky release of OpenStack including the clustering enabled LXD 3.0, new network configuration via netplan.io, and iteration on the next-generation fast server installer. Ubuntu Server brings major updates to industry standard packages available on private clouds, public clouds, containers or bare metal in your datacentre.

Ubuntu is a full-featured Linux distribution for desktops, laptops, netbooks and servers, with a fast and easy installation and regular releases. A tightly-integrated selection of excellent applications is included, and an incredible variety of add-on software is just a few clicks away.

The web is all about speed. If your site is slow, you lose visitors. And administering it is not much fun. In order to get to a fast server, you need to control the hardware. If you currently are on any kind of virtual server or even on shared hosting, in other words on anything where someone other than you is controlling resource allocation, your chances at a fast server are based solely on luck. For that reason I decided to get my own Hyper-V server in the cloud. be457b7860
