Who am I?
Hello! I am Lara, a 15 year old student attending high school. I discovered Henna/Mehndi a few years ago when I was in Malaysia with my family. It was basically love at first sight. Fast forward to a year ago, I started experimenting with different designs (on both myself and my friends/family). I started off being completely horrible at doing these tattoos, but after months of practise, I am happy to say that I've refined my henna tatooing skills.
And now? I want to expand the circle of people whom I do these tattoos for. By doing these tattoos, I hope to spread love and cultural awareness +appreciation!
Is Henna safe?
Natural henna is a red-brown colour. It is made from the dried leaves of the Lawsonia plant. When applied to the skin, henna can leave a brown, orange-brown or reddish-brown tint. Natural henna is generally safe to use directly on skin. (All the henna I use will be natural henna - not black henna which is highly toxic for humans)
Although allergic reactions are generally rare, it is important to note that henna shouldn't be applied on skin that is overly sensitive!
