iShowU Audio Capture is a free extension for macOS to record any audio coming directly from your Mac device. This recording tool is used by iShowU Studio and iShowU Instant to help users record audio, but it also supports being added to other recording software to record screen and audio.

Step 7: The final step is to set iShowU Audio Capture in OBS. Go to OBS Settings>Audio>Global Audio Devices>Mic/Auxiliary Audio and select iShowU Audio Capture. If you plug in a microphone, select your output device in Mic/Auxiliary Audio 2. Then click OK. So now you can use OBS to record screen or audio pretty well.

iShowU extension can be used well in OBS, allowing users to record video or audio perfectly. However, some people may not know how to use iShowU in OBS to record screen because of the complecate operation, so they are looking for an alternative to iShowU Audio Capture. So in this part, we will introduce you to practical screen recording software, TunesKit Screen Recorder.

TunesKit Screen Recorder is a professional and effective screen recorder that can capture any screen and sound on your computer. And it can be used in macOS systems as well as Windows systems. This software can record screen video and audio simultaneously and separately so that you can also see it as an audio recorder, allowing you to capture any kind of sound such as desktop audio, the voice from your microphone, etc.

With the help of this user-friendly screen recorder, you can cut video or audio at will, get audio recorded with full ID3 tags, or even edit ID3 tags. Then save the recording to various video and audio output formats, including MP4, M4V, MOV, MKV; MP3, M4A, AAC, FLAC, WAV, and many others.

Step 1: Download and launch TunesKit Screen Recorder. Before you start recording, you need to choose the recording mode. If you want to record the screen with audio, just leave the default mode. If you only record audio, click the record audio button and it will switch to recording audio-only mode.

Step 3: To record the screen with audio, now you need to click Select Area, build an area on your screen, then click the REC button.

If you want to record audio only, you just need to turn on System Audio and Microphone Audio(if you need it), then click on REC.

Step 5: If you need to cut the recording, click the Edit button and it will appear as an editing platform. You can cut the recording length, or click Tag to check or edit ID3 tags if the recording is audio-only. Last, click OK.

Today we show you how to download and install iShowU Audio Capture correctly on Mac and how to set up the iShowU extension to OBS. We also recommend a potential alternative, TunesKit Screen Recorder, to make it easier to record screen and audio on macOS computers. I hope you found this article helpful.

Hi!

I use BlackHole : GitHub - ExistentialAudio/BlackHole: BlackHole is a modern macOS virtual audio driver that allows applications to pass audio to other applications with zero additional latency.

So I recently upgraded to El Capitan and I need desktop audio capture for Open Broadcaster Software. The new OS X release only authorizes signed kext, which is a good thing. Unfortunately that breaks Soundflower or WavTap.

You can follow the install guide here. Once you are done, there should be a new device in your Audio/Midi setup. To access this panel, open up Applications/Utilities/Audio MIDI Setup. It should like like the following image. Tapping into this devices input, while you use it for output, will give you desktop audio.

Now in OBS, go to Settings > Audio > Mic/Auxiliary Audio Device and select iShowU Audio Capture. We are using the fake iShowU input, which is recording audio from your desktop. Since it is inside a Multi-Out device, the audio is correctly output to both iShowU and your desktop (or headset in my case).

iShowU is designed to record screen actions on your computer and it does so with a number of easy-to-set options and a robust back-end that helps you customize resolution, file size and output type. The result is a powerful, effective screen capture tool that's perfect for gaming and tutorial videos, alike.

When you first open iShowU, you'll be prompted to give control of your computer to the software. It's unnerving at first, but it only needs to access things like mouse animations to show them onscreen during video recording. By having access to mouse data, it can make files smaller. The interface of the app is a bit jumbled, but everything you need is on one screen. You can choose the video type, size, encoding, and other factors like frame rate, audio levels, input devices, etc. It's a fantastically diverse set of options that allows you to create some solid files, with presets for things like Blip.TV, Vimeo, YouTube, and even World of Warcraft. The entire process takes only a couple of seconds to set up, and it is very \"share\" friendly, recording in smaller file sizes.

If you need a basic video creator for screen capture on your Mac, consider iShowU. The app is free to try and costs $20 to upgrade if you continue to use it after the trial expires, and while not the most attractive or even the most powerful screen capture tool for Mac, it does offer one of the biggest bangs for its buck out there. It's a solid, well-made tool and one that you'll enjoy using quite a bit.

Trying to figure out how I can record VCV desktop video with audio using VCV Record module. It records Mpg. video but audio drops out after a few seconds. Have tried different bit rates. Using this as alternative to ishowu audio capture which created noise overtime I tried to record QT video.

For me video seems to record but audio cuts out after 10 seconds. Monitoring is also very choppy when recording to the point of unusable for live tweaking.

Just spent most of the day trying to work out a solution.

iShowU allows you to capture and record anything you can see on your screen, along with audio from any compatible source. Ever been in the situation where you wanted to show someone what was going on, but couldn't?

In the push to go digital, many have turned to two popular tools; OBS and Zoom for handling livestreams. For macOS users it is surprisingly difficult to capture desktop and zoom audio. This article is a step-by-step guide for capturing desktop audio and also audio from a zoom call in OBS.

Thanks for sharing this walkthrough. I thought this setup was as easy as plug & play. I started a Facebook Live stream yesterday from Zoom to OBS. Guest audio was muted the whole streaming and I was frustrated.

When you use macOS Catalina's built-in screen recording you'll get audio only from the microphone. If you want to record the audio coming out of the system and apps, you'll need to install a third-party extension. One company provides an extension for free that you can use with their software or just with macOS QuickTime screen recording.

Fantastic! Can't wait to try it. I am helping seniors with Apple devices and now, in these days of quarantine, this will allow me to create videos with accompanying audio in order to help them deal with problems on their devices.

I followed your directions using Blackhole as the audio capture software (also free) and it didn't allow me to hear sound in two places. I finally found an obscure note that when you set up the Multi-Output Device, you have to list the audio capture as the second choice and not the first. That solved the problem.

In the Midi Audio Devices window, on your video I see your Sample Rate is 48.0kHz whereas mine is set to 44,100Hz. Could that be a factor in these instructions not working for me and others? Guess I answered my own question: changed it for iShowU but it still failed to capture audio be457b7860
