If you receive a message in another language on your desktop PC, select More options > Translate at the top of the message. This will show a translation of the message into the language that you've set for Teams.

Teams will also prompt you to turn on auto-translation to automatically translate messages to your preferred language. You can always change your preferences under Settings > General >Translation.

To skip translation, in the list on the lower right, select Not now to skip translation or Never translate [Language] to never have the panel appear when you go to a page using that language.

Inside the address bar, you'll briefly see the status showing that the page has been translated.

If you select the translate icon in the address bar, the menu that appears also shows the status.

Ah, earlier I did wait like 30 seconds and nothing. But it just translated after the time like you said. So might be intermittent issue on server side? Oh, and this was only when I told it to translate to English.

As a workaround, installing the Google Translate extension gets around the issue. Yes, you have to click a button or two when you get to the website you want translated, and God only knows what the extension is really reporting home, but it works without turning shields off and probably is no worse than turning Shields Off [[same idea re. Google Extensions Use hopefully to be discussed at Using GOOGLE Extensions & privacy]].

We are noticing a difference between a Power BI Desktop installation from a web download, and a Power BI Desktop installation through the windows app store, and more precisely in how/when measures and attributes are translated.

When we connect to this model (live SQL Server Analysis Services-database connection) in the Power BI Desktop installation from the web download, we notice that while table names are translated to Dutch correctly, the measures and attributes are still in English:

If possible we would like to know how to get the correct translation behaviour for the web download installation, since not everyone in the organisation has a windows 10 laptop, and apparently the windows 8 Power BI Desktop Windows app is no longer supported.

If we connect with Excel to SSAS without the LocaleIdentifier property in de .odc, we get the same behaviour we see now in the Power BI Desktop installation from the web download, where table names are translated, but not the attributes/measures.

Our biggest issue with this behaviour is, like I said in my original post, not everyone in the organisation has Windows 10, and the Power BI Desktop download from the Windows store is no longer supported for Windows 8, so those people are forced to use the Power BI Desktop version downloaded from the web, and are currently stuck with a not fully translated model. (Unless there is a way to get the same behaviour/options as the Windows store installed version?)

After numerous testing, discussion with keyboard experts, other RDC software etc. I concluded that the reason is because Microsoft RDC must still use the last-century physical key mapping technique. If I press a key, windows just get that key stroke and will print whatever character this key means in the installed keyboard layout on the windows side. If I press shift+2 on macOS side, I will get various characters on the windows side, depending on what keyboard layout is chosen in windows language settings. MS RDC couldn't be dumber than that if it wanted to.

teamviewer, logmein, Anydesk have used unicode since the turn the of century. Anydesk does that and 100% of my macOS keyboard characters are functional via RDC even when the target windows machine has Dutch, French or UK windows keyboard layout.

If taking images on a tripod of a still subject, you would choose perspective? If taking images hand-held of a still subject you would then use scale, rotate, translate? I'm trying to get a feel as to what each does and if there are any drawbacks to using scale, rotate, translate all the time?
