About Language stars

Our Company

At Language Stars we aim to provide quality language lessons for children up to 12 years of age, in Bexley borough.

Our vision is to enable children to access language learning in a fun way through exciting and varied activities such as songs, rhymes, games, crafts and stories. We encourage every child to fulfill their potential and help them to feel proud of their achievements. We will endeavour to ensure every child leaves the class feeling more confident about understanding and speaking a modern foreign language, as well as a desire to learn more. We passionately feel that the earlier children are exposed to language learning, the more likely they are to succeed.

Despite the government recommendation that all Key Stage Two children should have one hour of foreign language learning per week, the reality is that, due to the demands of the curriculum, many children are not receiving their full entitlement. We have established this company to address this issue and because studies have shown that there are many benefits to language learning, such as promoting better cultural understanding, increasing confidence and improving social and literacy skills.

About Us

We are both language graduates and have spent time living abroad. During our time in Germany, we ran an English Kindergarten together. We are both qualified teachers and have experience of teaching languages to children of all ages. Ros Cooper has been the Modern Foreign Language Coordinator at a local primary school for nine years, has taught both KS2 and KS1 French and organised whole school events such as French breakfasts and French Markets, European days and links with and visits to a partner school in Paris. As a Sunday School leader at St Paulinus Church Crayford, she has run several successful holiday clubs. Jo Williams is an experienced secondary school teacher in Modern Foreign Languages: namely French, German and Spanish. She has been a primary links coordinator at Bexley Grammar School, teaching languages to primary aged children, running the Europa town event for primary schools and delivering language training for primary teachers in conjunction with Greenwich University.
