Geosoftech ("we", "our", or "us") developed the Language Translator app as a free application. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the app. Please read it carefully. By using the app, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information required for the app to function properly. The app does not require account registration and does not ask for personal details such as your name, email address, phone number, or physical address.

Text Input

When you enter text for translation, it is sent to Google Translate’s web service to generate translated results. We do not store this text on our servers.

Voice Input

If you use voice translation, Android’s built-in speech recognition service converts your speech into text. Depending on device settings, processing may occur locally or on Google’s servers. We do not record, store, or transmit your audio independently.

Camera Input

When using the photo translation feature, the camera captures images of text. Text recognition is performed on your device using Google ML Kit. Images are not uploaded or stored externally.

2. Information Stored Only on Your Device

Some information is stored locally on your device to improve usability. This includes translation history, voice translation text history, language preferences, and app settings such as theme or premium status. This information stays on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect personal identification details, location data, device identifiers, advertising IDs, usage analytics, financial details, contact lists, or social media data.

4. Permissions Used

The app requests certain Android permissions only for specific functionality:

• Internet access is required for translation requests and dictionary lookups.
  
  

• Network state access helps check connectivity before translation attempts.
  
  

• Camera permission supports photo translation with on-device OCR processing.
  
  

• Notification permission allows local reminders such as word-learning alerts.
  
  

• Alarm scheduling, boot completion, and wake lock permissions ensure reminder notifications work reliably.
  
  

No permissions are requested for contacts, phone state, SMS, external storage, or location data.

5. Third-Party Services

The app uses a few trusted third-party services strictly for functionality:

• Google ML Kit provides on-device language detection and text recognition.
  
  

• Android speech recognition converts voice to text according to device settings.
  
  

• Android Text-to-Speech reads translated text aloud on the device.
  
  

We do not integrate advertising SDKs, analytics tools, crash reporting systems, or tracking services.

6. Data Storage and Retention

All user data stays on your device using Android’s local storage systems. We do not maintain external servers for user data and do not back up data to the cloud.

Data is removed automatically if you uninstall the app or clear app data through device settings. The app also provides options to manually clear translation and conversation history.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect information handled by the app:

• Data is stored locally under Android’s secure app sandbox.
  
  

• Network communications use encrypted HTTPS connections.
  
  

• No external databases are maintained by us.
  
  

• Code obfuscation helps protect against reverse engineering.
  
  

Despite these measures, absolute security cannot be guaranteed when interacting with third-party services over the internet.

8. Children’s Privacy

The app is not specifically designed for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the app does not collect personal data, special handling is generally not required. If you believe a child’s information may have been processed through third-party services, please contact those service providers directly.

9. User Control and Rights

Because data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it. You can view or delete translation history within the app, clear all app data through device settings, disable notifications at any time, and revoke camera permission whenever you choose.

10. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data for advertising, marketing, or analytics purposes. Data transmission occurs only when necessary for functionality, such as translation requests, dictionary lookups, or voice recognition processing. These transmissions contain no personal identifiers.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Updates will be posted in the app or on its listing page. Please review this policy periodically. The effective date indicates the latest revision.
