If you want an open-ear design that keeps your ears free for traffic awareness and offers a lightweight fit for big heads, choose Langsdom AirWave Max Open-Ear; if you need submersible durability for laps in the pool or deep-water training, choose Clooissr IPX8.
• Langsdom AirWave Max Open-Ear: Its biggest strength is the open-ear air conduction design that prioritizes situational awareness during outdoor runs, while its trade-off is the lack of noise isolation which means less bass punch than sealed earbuds. This pick is for the runner who needs to hear their surroundings and requires a secure fit for a larger head circumference.
• Clooissr IPX8: Its biggest strength is the IPX8 waterproof rating that allows full submersion up to 6 meters with built-in MP3 storage for underwater use, while its trade-off is the in-ear design that blocks out environmental sound and requires careful sizing to prevent slippage. This pick is for the swimmer who demands a seal against water and needs a stable connection during flip turns.
The Langsdom AirWave Max is engineered specifically for those who prioritize safety and environmental awareness over total noise isolation. The open-ear air conduction design leaves your ear canals completely open, meaning you can enjoy your music playlist while still hearing approaching cars, cyclists, or other pedestrians. This makes it an ideal companion for running, cycling, and commuting through busy urban areas where blind spots are dangerous. If you have ever felt anxious wearing in-ear buds on the road because you couldn't hear your surroundings, this model solves that problem without compromising audio quality.
For buyers searching for bluetooth earbuds for big head, the AirWave Max stands out due to its ergonomic wrap-around design and adjustable strap. Weighing only 27 grams, it feels almost weightless on the head, distributing pressure evenly rather than pinching the cartilage or creating hot spots inside the ear canal. The skin-friendly silicone material ensures comfort even during long sessions, making it suitable for extended wear without the fatigue often associated with heavy headphones. The inclusion of a dual-device connectivity feature also adds versatility for switching between devices seamlessly.

However, this product is not for everyone. Because it relies on air conduction, it cannot offer the deep bass response or the immersive silence of in-ear monitors. If your primary goal is to block out gym noise or focus entirely on the music in a loud environment, you might find the soundstage too open. Additionally, while the dual-mic ENC helps with call clarity, the open design means calls may sound less crisp in very windy or noisy settings compared to sealed options. You should skip this if you plan to use these primarily for swimming or high-intensity water sports, as they are rated IP67, which handles sweat and rain but not submersion.
The Clooissr IPX8 is a powerhouse designed for one specific purpose: conquering the water. With an IPX8 rating allowing submersion up to 6 meters (20 feet), these are the only true choice for lap swimmers, triathletes, or anyone who wants to listen to music while fully underwater. Since Bluetooth signals do not travel through water, the device features a dedicated MP3 mode with 8GB of internal storage capable of holding over 1,500 songs. This means you can leave your phone on the pool deck and still have hours of uninterrupted audio for your entire workout session. The 12mm dynamic drivers are specifically tuned to minimize distortion underwater, delivering clear, consistent sound that cuts through the ambient noise of the pool.
When considering sports earbuds for big head or simply those who struggle with standard one-size-fits-all designs, the Clooissr offers a unique advantage. The ear hooks are rotatable by 30 degrees and come with three sizes of specialized swim earplugs (S/M/L). This customization allows you to create a waterproof seal that fits your specific ear shape perfectly, ensuring the device stays put during vigorous flip turns or intense drills. The passive noise cancellation provided by the tight in-ear seal further enhances the experience by blocking out surface splashes and chatter, helping you maintain focus on your rhythm and pace.
That said, the in-ear nature of the Clooissr means you lose all environmental awareness. You cannot hear traffic or people behind you while wearing them, so they are strictly for controlled environments like pools or gyms. They are not designed for casual listening while walking down the street. Furthermore, while the battery life is solid with up to 12 hours of average playback, the 8-hour limit in MP3 mode is slightly lower than the 17 hours offered by the Langsdom when used for standard Bluetooth streaming. If you are looking for a device to wear all day at the office or while jogging in the park, this in-ear form factor might feel restrictive and isolating compared to an open-ear alternative.

I would buy the Langsdom AirWave Max Open-Ear if my primary activity was running, cycling, or general fitness where I need to stay aware of my surroundings. The open-ear design combined with the lightweight construction makes it the superior choice for daily wear, especially for someone with a large head who needs a secure but non-restrictive fit. However, if your life revolves around the pool, I would immediately switch to the Clooissr IPX8. No other option on the market offers the same level of waterproofing and underwater audio performance. Ultimately, for big heads seeking a versatile daily driver that balances comfort with safety, the Langsdom takes the edge, but for the serious swimmer, the Clooissr is unmatched.
Yes, both models offer customizable fits, but the Langsdom AirWave Max is often preferred for active kids due to its lighter weight (27g) and open-ear design which prevents ear fatigue during long periods of wear.
No, the Clooissr has 8GB of built-in storage for MP3 files, allowing you to listen offline in the pool without needing your phone nearby.
The Langsdom is IP67 rated, meaning it is sweatproof and dustproof and can handle rain or splashes, but it is not designed for submersion in water like the Clooissr.
The Langsdom AirWave Max offers up to 17 hours of playtime, whereas the Clooissr offers up to 12 hours, making the Langsdom better for all-day usage on land.
