Latest version (live 9.10) on W10, if you have the camera control window floating (not docked on the side) and close it, then close LB, you can now never get it back again with the menu until you reset the interface completely by holding shift while starting.

With Imaging Edge Mobile, you can use a smartphone to control multiple cameras. There are two ways to connect: using just a smartphone and cameras (group owner method), or using an access point (access point method).

If the camera has been connected as a client before, the camera will connect to the previous group owner automatically.

If you are connecting the camera as a client for the first time, or if the camera cannot be connected to the previous group owner, you need to set the access point. Perform the following procedure.

Connecting the camera to the computer showed it as being seen by the OS, but no amount of pushing or poking seemed to make Camera Control Pro 2 be able to detect it. The app would simply show the error "No camera was detected" & hang there. The only way out was to force quit.

This was tested only on Mac & only on a D5500.

I could not repro reports of it not working if other USB devices are connected. I always have at least half a dozen other things permanently connected. It may require that the camera tether goes on its own bus - i.e. connect straight to the computer, not through a hub.

I am writing a simple SceneKit point cloud viewer for macOS and using the built in camera controls provided by SCNView. Initially I add the coordinate axes to the scene's root node which are placed at the origin and then I add a a camera at (4,4,4) pointed towards the origin (the y-axis the "up direction" by default):

The point cloud's origin is (0,0,0) (which should makes things simple). I do rotate the point cloud 180 degrees around the x-axis since the y-axis is pointing down in the model, but needs to be up for scene kit's default orientation. I reposition the camera, but it is still pointed at (0,0,0):

Here is the weird part. If I immediately load the point cloud, the camera pans around some unknown point off to the left (see screenshot in lower left). If I interact with the camera before loading the point cloud (or sometimes just wait a bit or hold my tongue differently) the rotation center is the desired point (0,0,0) as shown on the bottom right.

As it is being done via ethernet there is no delay and there is no chance of losing the connection. I have had instances in the past where certain wireless video systems have interfered with the wireless signal being generated from my camera. be457b7860
