Privacy Policy — Market analysis using AI

"Market analysis using AI" ("the extension", "we", "our") is a Chrome extension that captures a screenshot of the browser tab you are currently viewing and sends it — together with your own notes — to an AI provider (Google Gemini or Anthropic Claude) that you connect using your own API key, in order to generate a technical-analysis commentary on a price chart.

In short: this extension has no backend server of its own. It runs entirely in your browser. The only places your data ever goes are (1) your own browser's local storage, and (2) the AI provider (Google or Anthropic) that you personally configure with your own API key. We — the developer — never receive, see, or store any of your data.

2. What we do NOT do

• We do not operate any server that receives, logs, or stores your screenshots, notes, API keys, or analysis results.

• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party for advertising, analytics, or any purpose unrelated to generating your requested analysis.

• We do not track your general browsing history or activity across tabs. The extension only ever looks at the single tab that is active at the moment you click "Analyze".

• We do not use your data to assess creditworthiness or for lending purposes.

• We do not inject scripts into, read the DOM of, or modify the web pages you visit. The extension only takes a visual screenshot via Chrome's captureVisibleTab API.

3. Third-party AI providers

When you click "Analyze", your screenshot, notes, and page context are sent directly from your browser to whichever AI provider you selected, using your own API key:

• Google Gemini API — governed by Google's own Privacy Policy and API Terms of Service.

• Anthropic Claude API — governed by Anthropic's own Privacy Policy and Commercial Terms of Service.

These requests go directly from your browser to Google's or Anthropic's servers — this extension does not proxy, intercept, or retain a copy of that traffic. Please review the respective provider's privacy policy to understand how they handle data sent through their API.

4. Data storage and retention

All settings (API keys, selected provider/model, language preference) are stored using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API, which keeps data only on your own device — it is not synced to any cloud account and is not accessible to us or to any other extension. This data remains on your device until you clear it yourself (via the extension's Settings page, or by uninstalling the extension, which removes all locally stored data automatically).

Analysis results are only held in memory while the side panel is open, for the purpose of letting you copy the result or export it to a Word document. Nothing is persisted beyond your local device.

5. Your choices and control

• You can remove your saved API keys at any time from the extension's Settings page.

• You can uninstall the extension at any time, which permanently deletes all locally stored data associated with it.

• You control which AI provider (if any) your data is sent to, since you must supply your own API key for the provider you choose to use.

6. Children's privacy

This extension is not directed at children and is not intended for use in analyzing content in a way that collects personal information from children under 13 (or the relevant age of consent in your jurisdiction).

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
