Hosting an Event

Introduction to Events

LALN events will comprise of different types of presentations and audiences, ranging in difficulty from introductory to advanced. These events are based on needs of LALN participants and the varying capacities from those in the network. One session might be an introductory session aiming to promote awareness among K-12 teachers and administrators while the next might be an advanced session focused on text mining for learning content analysis.

Session Format

Each of the events will follow the same basic format:

  1. Introduction to the topic through a presentation
  2. An activity (guided, group, or individual)
  3. Time for Q&A for live participants (if watching recording, there will be a forum to discuss and ask questions)
  4. Opportunities for networking

Preparing for an Event

If you would like to host an event for LALN, you will proceed through the following steps:

Complete the proposal form

After contact from LALN team, download templates and guides

Schedule your event, market it through various networks, and set up the local portion

Coordinate resources and/or event updates with LALN team
