Born in August 1998 in a rural valley of Tamghas, Gulmi, Er. Gyawali completed his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Tribhuvan University in 2021. He is dedicated to his other career to serve the developing nation, keeping Nepal at the forefront of economic development. He joined the civil service in 2022. Recently, he has been working as a civil engineer in the government of Nepal, the Ministry of Urban Development. He is a hardworking, intelligent, creative, and industrious person who loves to work on new inventions and innovative creations in civil engineering. Er. Gyawali is interested in contract management, quality control, structural analysis of buildings, risk management, and procurement. He loves to work with those who are creative and productive. His current role in this lab is to train newly interested scholars to achieve different careers in engineering, planning, and development.
Dr. Sujata Neupane, Founding Member
Born in August 1996 in the rural foothills of Shantipur, Gulmi, Dr. Neupane has built her career with a strong passion for dentistry and patient care. A district topper in her schooling years, she earned a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree from B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, where she also completed her internship across several hospitals, including Biratnagar Zonal Hospital, Ilam District Hospital, Chatara Hospital, and BPKIHS. She began her professional career as a Dental Officer at Tamghas District Hospital and practiced part-time at Nidan Dental Care before moving to Canada in October 2023. There, she volunteered at a dental clinic in London, Ontario, before joining Fort Frances Family Dentists and Fort Frances Riverside Hospital in January 2024. Currently, she is preparing for the Canadian dental licensing examination with NDEB approval. Sujata is recognized for her dedication to dentistry, adaptability across diverse healthcare systems, resilience in pursuing international opportunities, and commitment to continuous learning.

Mr. Panthi has received a Ph.D. in international development, majoring in economic development policy and management, from Nagoya University, Japan. He is currently working as a consultant economist at a Tokyo-based think tank. He has more than seven years of professional experience in various sectors, such as think tanks, research institutes, bank and financial sector, corporate sector, and academic institutions. His research interests are macroeconomics, development economics, development finance, international finance, and financial economics. This page is dedicated to his grandparents, the Late Mr. Harilal Panthi and the late Mrs. Kanta Panthi, and all ancestors of the Lakure family, originating from Lakureka Rukha, Upallo Tamghas of Gulmi District, Nepal. His family name “Lakure”, is formed from the name of a tree(rukh), i.e. “Lakuri/लाकुरी" or “Lakure Ka Rukha (लाकुरेका रुख)", which was located beside the first house made by his grandfather at Upallo Tamghas, Gulmi, Nepal.
