Visit the only recorded rock art on the Cape Whale Coast! Cave paintings were discovered in the spacious cave at Phillipskop Mountain Reserve in 2016. The paintings are thousands of years old and are any historian’s delight. Phillipskop’s rock art site is situated in a cave, 30 to 40 minutes walk from the reserve’s reception and car park. The Waterfall Hiking Trail takes you to the foot of the slope up to the cave. There is a short but steep path up from near the waterfall; good shoes and steady feet are advised. A day visitor entrance fee is charged.
Take a slow boat down the Klein River, put your feet up and relax with a picnic or get your binoculars out and see the amazing birdlife. There are three river cruise operators to choose from. Please note booking is essential.
