In this workshop we explore the limits of learning analytics. By limits we mean both limitations and also boundaries.
With this workshop we tackle recent scholarly work questioning what the limitations of learning analytics are. Our approach reframes limits as the horizons of learning analytics—areas of potential and excitement. We introduce perspectives that may serve as useful guides through new frontiers from psychometrics, sociology and learning theory.
In this workshop, you'll be positioned as a collaborator. The workshop coordinators will facilitate discussion by highlighting three relevant concepts in theory from outside learning analytics, providing summaries of research, and introducing the resources and activities we've designed to structure our shared reflection and debate around the methodologies underpinning our work into the future.
