Veggie Nompers is an app designed to make vegetarian food more approachable and inclusive for everyone. By challenging the stigma around vegetarian taste and improving the discovery of appealing meat-free options, the app helps users communicate dietary preferences openly and find food that suits their needs, regardless of whether they are vegetarian or simply curious to explore plant-based alternatives.
Veggie Nompers’ development adheres to a style guide focused on creating a cohesive and accessible visual identity that reinforces the app’s inclusive values.A meaningful logotype was designed to reflect approachability and freshness. Typography was selected with accessibility in mind, ensuring clear hierarchy and readability across devices, supported by a distinct colour palette anchored in forest green tones to evoke health and sustainability. Consistency was further established through the definition of core UI elements, providing a unified design system that ensures clarity, recognisability and a seamless user experience throughout the app.
Medium-fidelity prototyping played a crucial role in evaluating navigation flows, layout compatibility, and overall user journeys before committing to high-fidelity design. By striking a balance between structure and flexibility, these prototypes made it possible to test information hierarchy, screen transitions, and interaction patterns without the distraction of visual polish. This approach helped surface usability issues early, validate assumptions about how users move through the app, and refine layouts to ensure they worked cohesively across key tasks, resulting in clearer, more intuitive user journeys.
